Just picked up a set of wheels (Forgeline VR1) for my car that someone went through quite a bit of trouble to make ugly as hell!

The wheels were originally polished aluminum

I just picked them up looking like this

I am debating either bringing them back to their original polished look or maybe having them powdercoated something more tasteful?

Here is my car/current setup

Perhaps thinking of doing some sort of brass monkey bronze or gold color which always seems to go well with red like this.

Any other opinions/ideas that would pop?

If you like gold but don;t want to be cleaning them all the time. Something like this looks really good against red and black cars.

The powder coat name is sunken treasure.

+1 ^^ those are pretty neat.

I don't like gold at all but am a huge fan of Bronze. That sunken treasure color is great.
Black wheels are slightly overplayed however they look good on red cars.

Here's a Bronze I had done by my powder coater/friend called "adonized bronze 2".

Brass monkey / bronze or whatever it's called is so played out. It was "cool" back when I ran TE37s on my R32 back in 2003.

Now the trend (assuming that's what your aiming for) is a contrasting color. Flip through some of the new mags or google if you prefer.

Having said that, you have a red car so color palate wise, you are limited

Why are you getting rid of the ACR wheels?

Looks good too!! I agree black wheels are about as basic as it gets but can't go wrong with black wheels either!

Nice!!! I am kind of leaning towards some sort of bronze/gold but the stripes are throwing me off

Why are you getting rid of the ACR wheels?
Not getting "rid" of them as I am keeping them for when I go to the track but they just look so damn tiny on the car by today's standards and don't fill the wheel well as much as I would like.

Can you get the above with extra cheese?
And pepperoni please!

I'm doing something similar with my 3 piece iforged. Rightnow I'm leaning towards a hyper gray center and polished lip, like this
