Just a heads-up, there is a red 2000 ACR on Ebay right now that *appears* to be one of the NON-comfort group cars. Unfortunately, the front bumper is aftermarket, and there is also a big wing on the back... but kind of cool car nonetheless!

Nice car Good price too,
Fast colour ....check
Autoform Le mans front fascia......Check
Autoform Le mans rear wing ......Check
Canadian car so I'm guessing the Speedo would be in Kilometers?
Not sure what the silver dash plaque would be? Its not a FE car, if it was a Autoform 91 car there would be centre louvers in the hood.
Looks like an ACR with black smooth tubes and radio delete.

I always wanted a non comfort group car, but couldn't find one in Steel Grey. It seems because most Gen II buyers were middle age and older men, no one wanted these as street cars. I believe that's the Autoform fascia. It's funny I'm sure the owner spent a fortune getting that car set up, but some things never change. Body mods always devalue a cars future value.

Disagree with that, those are good mods, it just means you have to wait longer to find the right buyer :)

There's a car for everyone, for the guy who wants it, it's gold. For the collector it's definitely a minus. Then again I'm watching Barrett Jackson Palm beach and a 1971 K-5 Blazer just sold for $200,000! So you never can tell.

How about the Volkswagon 21 window bus for $285,000.

I would love to have this car as is but with the dual white stripes added. At passing glance you would swear an Oreca GTS-R drove by.
Question: It was possible to order one of these cars originally with radio AND air conditioning delete correct?

I'd pull the stickers off and maybe add stripes, but that's a good looking car.
My dad had an 01 with the Daytona front end. Red/silver. I always thought it was a good looking car.

Yep, the comfort group option added radio and A/C. I'd have to look at the registry, but if I remember correctly there were less than 12 cars built each year without comfort group. This is the 2nd 2000 I've seen, the other was being sold by a dealership in Oregon a few years ago. I was strongly considering it, but bought a Z06 instead. I'm still kicking myself for that decision! I would gladly trade my ACR with the comfort group option for one without!

But this car appears to have a/c without the radio so I'm assuming there was just a radio delete option by itself.

I personally think the front fascia and wing give this car some punch. Funny how some pull the " it does not look right with the extras on it" yet a Gen IV or V ACR looks like a beast with the wing and additions. If Chrysler ever built the Gen II with wings and splitters, I guarantee you most if not all, would die to own one with a wing and splitter upgrade as does the current ACRs and their demand becasue of those upgrades. If this car was ever a production car in 1996-2002...can you imagine the demand and the collectability?

The equipment list for that ACR does not show any indication that it was built with A/C, unlike the other 2000 ACR right now on eBay whose equpment list does show A/C listed in several places.

Ok I don't know what I'm missing here. There are HVAC controls in the car below the radio delete, the item description mentions air conditioning, but you're saying the equipment list doesn't indicate the car was built with AC so it would have been retrofitted in this case?

Your conclusion seems to be most likely.

I would like to see pictures of a true non-comfort car to see what the hvac controls look like. I wonder they use the same panel showing A/C without it being functional?

There is only one part number for the control assembly in the parts list. FWIW

I think some people miss the point, if the car comes equipped with a wing and a splitter from the factory it's one thing, but when it's added on later it becomes a personal preference deal. Dodge did make a GEN II with those accessories in 1998, the GT II. My only real issue with that car is that the rear wing is essentially non functional. So the car has some additional down force on the front of the car but none on the rear. In my mind that car is more about the show than the go. The ACR's are true to their mission, if they had come with real down force like the GEN IV and GEN V all the better, but they didn't. I have to say those wheels on that car are terrible, white or not. If your posing the race look at least get some legit race wheels.

The delete plate looks right but the pic is so bad can't see controls etc. Probably have to run the VIN to be sure. I have a pic floating around I can attach. It's the 01 Non comfort ACR that's the hardest to find with only 4 made.

Car is Canadian and is obviously a model of the Vipers that ran at Lemans and Daytona, etc. Radio is deleted and no A/C shown as an option on the build sheet. It is not one of the 10 cars approved by Daytona International Speedway to commemorate the 2000 Overall win of the Viper, as we sold all those and Autoform got the approval. Likely , a non comfort group car sold in Canada, that someone did the Autoform front fascia and wing and it is tasteful to many.

Bill, the quarter panel has the Dan Fitz logo, maybe one of his special additions??

Doubt it, originally, as the car was sold by a Canadian Dealer. The parts scream Autoform , though definitely a possibility it was sent down to Fitzgerald later to be outfitted similar to how it is now? The wing does have a function , as one can see the adjustments in the back, but it would not have the trememdous impact a new ACR-E has. Many of the folks running Viper Days had similar wings , along with similar front splitters and they definitely helped the cars back then. The things that have changed are that downforce today reaches levels few thought of 15-18 years ago.

I guess I'm the only one that dislikes the wings on Vipers. I understand their purpose on a track car but on the street they look silly to me. I feel the same way about the Gen IV and V too. Just like the cleaner lines of the cars without them.

Different strokes for diff'rent folks :) I LOVE rear wings, but I respect people that don't like them :)
I mainly use my wing to full advantage at Cars and Coffee events, I mainly use the wing as a Bar top, its great for putting your Coffee cups on and resting your arm on while talking with friends :)
There are many more Vipers out there without wings, so to find one with that wing and fascia on IS a "Somewhat rare find"

It's the ACR dash plaque :)
