This video is to announce the project that I will be working on this summer. "Project Liberty" as I have named it, will consist of a complete paint correction of my 2004 Jeep Liberty. I am not going for perfection as I do on my Corvette because this is nothing more than a daily driver. The thing that I want to accomplish here is just to add value to the car by making it look newer than it actually is. After all, it isn't my rusty, 500Hp El Camino so it needs to at least look presentable. That V6 engine ain't gonna outrun anything! Lol!

Can you "add value" to a Jeep Liberty? Hmm. Learn something new every day. I didn't even know that was possible.

Yes, with MY paint correction skills, I can add value to a Yugo. ;)

Another easy to understand video.

So how much clearcoat did you have to deal with, Was it measured before correction. I consider myself a novice, but would not try wet sanding yet till I more understand paint and clear depth, especially on a used car.

Well Bruce, I will tell you like this. I do this the worse possible way anyone should try. I don't measure anything. I go strictly on feel and experience. My father had me in his body shop everyday during the summer when school was out and put me to work when I was 7-years old. I'm 54 now so that gives you some idea as to how long I have been fooling with paint. I never try to completely fix the scratches that catch on my fingernail, only the ones that don't. So I would never recommend that anyone do it the way I do, I just show folks how I do it. If you do decide to try it, a paint thickness gauge is the only way to go.

Thanks for watching. :)

This is just a quick video to show you how your paint should look after compounding it. I still need to polish it out with the Perfecting Cream (pinky), but as you can see, THE SHINE is built with your compound and polish, NOT WAX. Don't believe the hype! Wax is a PROTECTANT. Your shine is complete WAY before you add your wax.

^^^^^ Just giving this video a Bump! Where's everybody been?

I've inherited a family and am getting married next year! Life is whizzing past so fast that I still haven't finished with Project Liberty. Hopefully, I can get started back on it soon!

Actually, I don't have a Viper but I still have my Vette. As I get older, climbing in and out of cars is not something I like doing a LOT of. As a matter of fact, I haven't driven the Vette since last August!!! That Jeep is getting all kinds of workout and I drive it year round, through all weather and in the mud!
