As with so many things Viper these days, there is more change on the horizon. It has just been announced that the Bondurant Racing School (the Official Racing School of Dodge/SRT, based in Chandler, AZ) will discontinue training on Vipers in their fleet as of June 1st, 2017. Many experienced and novice members have taken this course, it's become rather popular among our group (and also featured in our magazine).

While it's another sad sign of a diminishing footprint for the Viper, the VOA felt it was appropriate to seek a silver lining with the going away of this significant program. We've recently negotiated a deal with Bondurant directly to have a very limited time offer just for VOA members that is pretty amazing. While Bondurant is already 85% sold out on capacity, they have agreed to a 20% discount on their 4-Day Forza Motorsport Grand Prix Road Racing Class for our club members. This is over $900 in savings, track rats rejoice!

NO PREVIOUS TRACK EXPERIENCE NEEDED! This class will teach you what you need to know and how to handle that Viper in your garage. It puts you in the seat of a GenV Viper TA2.0 for three days of fundamental and advanced racing techniques. Day four of the racing class will put you in the seat of an Open Wheel Formula 3 race car to really have fun and hone your new skills. At the end of the 4 days you know how to handle your own car and your confidence factor will be sky high! Classes have maximum of 12 people per week with one instructor for 3 people, very close interaction and instruction. This course also is SCCA license eligible, with graduation from this course you would be eligible to apply for your SCCA race license. This is a must do for anyone that wants to improve their driving skills on and off the track.

This monster of a class usually goes for $5,499 per person, but with our limited time VOA member discount you can do all of this for $4582! Very limited room left for weeks reaching up to June 1st, after June 1 it is over, no more Vipers (and no more discount even on their other regular cars). A 50% deposit is required for your reservation. There is limited space and weeks will fill up quickly before June 1st. Once your info is received and membership verified someone from Bondurant Racing School will call you for your deposit and confirmation. If you would like to go in a group, ensure all participants select the same date! Currently only weeks left open are:

April 24th – 27th
May 8th – 11th
May 15th – 18th
May 22nd – 25th
May 25th – 28th

If interested, or if you have questions, contact our VOA Racing Director, Kurt Robinson, at kurt.robinson@driveviper.com. If you would like to attend, simply email him your name, VOA member number, and also provide your requested week that you would like to attend. Be sure to also provide a good contact number and email address so we can get a hold of you.

FYI, this info has been out for less than 24 hours and 10 members have already signed up and placed deposits. Big turn out of this in such a short time, one session is already sold out.

What about all the people who purchased/are waiting on new Vipers? Do they not all get free track day with purchase?

Good question, we have purchased 2 gen Vs, 1 being a 2016 ACR-E, do we have an additional discount because of purchase?

The free track day you are referring to would be the Dodge SRT Experience. As far as I know that program is still going forward.

As far as compounding multiple discounts or trade in the SRT voucher for more off this 4 day class, This question was raised to me already via email and I've sent in that inquiry to Bondurant.

I thought the Dodge SRT Experience was replaced with a full day at Bondurant. Either way, I hope they don't discontinue the use of Vipers before all new Viper owners get a chance to attend their day, let alone pick up their new Viper.

Here is the info on the one day program you get with purchase of your new Viper or SRT vehicle. It is not a Racing skills course. It is a SRT Experience, full details attached in this link. https://bondurant.com/dodge-srt-experience/

Dodge SRT owners and Lessees have the unique opportunity to take advantage of Bondurant’s “Cash-in” offer. This allows Dodge SRT owners and Lessees to upgrade to one of our signature Multi-Day programs at a $1,000 discount in lieu of their one day SRT experience.

So would this "cash in" offer of $1000 be off the VOA member price of $4582?

Thank you Kurt, I would hope they let us use it. It is not a discount to them. Bondurant still gets paid there asking price in full.

Bondurant is an excellent facility and program. I went to their 4-day school in 1992, the week after I placed a formal order for my 1993 RT/10. It's the best HP mod you can buy for the money, and you can install it in every vehicle you'll ever drive from that point forward.

Sorry y'all. I did not get a good response back from Bondurant. They will take either or, not both. So it is take the 20% off or use your voucher for a $1000 discount. They won't take the $1000 off of the 20% discounted rate.

If you could schedule it right you could do the 4 day course and get your SRT Experience in the same trip or add in another training program using your $1000 voucher back to back with the 4 day. Just suggestions.

Personally I would do the 4 day for the 20% off and try to schedule it adjacent to an advanced road racing class with a ACR using the voucher, if scheduling is possible. Make a full solid week out of it while you are in Chandler, AZ.

Thanks for checking Kurt, and just so folks know the SRT Program has been going on for a very long time but it was never cumulative. Both it and a similar program with Ford have time limits , usually 1-2 years. The ability to take advantage of the SRT Driving Experience and get a discount was something Bondurant worked out with SRT/Dodge so folks that came there could continue and actually get some track experience and training. The program morphed as Bondurant was very reasonable and understanding and frankly they gave folks a bigger discount than what the Driving Experience really was valued at. Went there years ago , and if someone really wants to run a Viper around a track with quality Instruction, this is a wonderful chance!

I went when I was 34 and in good shape. That course used muscle groups in my neck, chest, arms and back I didn't know I had. If there was a 5th day, I would not have made it.

I did the 4 day grand prix course in 2011 and even though it was end of May it was getting quite warm. One the third day many students were pulling off the track in the afternoon just from getting too hot or exhausted in the car (and some were even running the A/C) to take a break in the air conditioned reception area. For anybody going, I would recommend some basic cardio fitness and to get your body used to the automotive g-force strain, I would go to a go cart track a couple times a week for two or three weeks prior to get those muscles you never use acclimated to the track stresses of a multi day program.

I would definitely bring your own driving gloves as I found that helped my hands a lot.....the open wheel Mazda formula cars take a fair bit of steering effort.

Yes you did. I actually called them directly and signed up for the April 17th course with the VOA discount. Since the 5/25 course is sold out, I had to find a work week that worked with my schedule. For all those thinking about this, they also informed me that ALL VIPERS will be removed from Bondurant as early as 6/1. This is your last chance.

Claude- that was second most popular date so there may be a spot or two left but by several.
I'm out of the country until the end of the week but if you email me you info and preferred dates I'll get that to our VOA partner at Bondurant to call to back and go over an up to the minute calendar. He can also take your depost at same time if you do a a date that works for you.
Email me at kurt.robinson@driveviper.com and I'll make sure it gets in the works asap.
