I saw a few other posts about this but nothing that resolved the issue. when I try and turn the car on it runs for about 2-3 seconds and then shuts off, i think its the alarm however the dash doesn't show that the alarm is armed I've tried to use the key fob to disarm it and it does nothing. It started when i tried to start it the other day and the battery was dead since it hasn't been on in a while so I charged it and tried to start it and it began. The only suggestions I've seen were to have it towed to a dealer and have it reset but that would be the last thing I want to do. Has anyone had this issue and gotten it resolved?

There are scores of threads on this...with positive outcomes. DO NOT expect anyone to post an alarm defeat solution on an open forum.
Call me now...can help AFTER I am convinced you are the owner.

P.S. Several dealers call me for help since original Viper Techs have nearly disappeared...and, Tech Connect can no longer support that age Viper.

If it started after the battery died then you may need to hold your foot on the gas to keep the RPM's up a bit while the computer relearns it's memory. After the battery dies it needs to relearn the AIS position which can take several minutes of running just off idle.
