Appreciate all the responses and input from everyone who replied. I would up getting the "Good" model from CTEK as pictured below for $88.99 from their website. Seems to work great so far, no issues to report. I like that is comes with the connector to "hard wire" it in, so all you have to do in connect the quick connect plug and then power it up. Right now I am currently just using the standard clamps to keep the battery at full charge.

I've got 4 of them. Found them on sale for 49.99 at one time and bought 4. Hard wired it to the Viper and i plug it in constantly. Before and after rides as well as from October to April (winter season here in Toronto, Canada). Have had them all plugged in to my ATV, Both my Vipers and my Motorcycle and they work like a charm with no problems and quick starts ever time. I highly recommend them.

Has anyone used the battery tender JR? Seems to be more for atvs or motorcycles, but shows usage on cars as well. They're on sale on amazon right now, 3-pack for $64. Are these any good?

I've used them on my motorcycles with good Results . I would think a slow charge on your car battery would be ok , just unplug it when it's fully charged .

But you don't think using as a maintainer for winter months is best?

I use the jr as a maintainer with no issues what so ever. The redlight does stay on longer due to the lower charge rate, but it does go green and holds just fine.
