Looks identical to the Girots wheel cleaner.
I spray it on the wheel, caliper, and barrell of the wheel. Then use my pressure washer to get the schmutz off. Works perfect.

How caustic is it? Mask and gloves?

Ordered! I'll give anything a shot with these wheels, I haven't found anything that works other than taking the wheels off and scrubbing.

Not caustic, no gloves/mask, PH neutral, 100% safe. Probably best to start with wiped clean wheels then use this every wash after. It really works well.
Google it. I bought from a place called "honest wash". Its on amazon etc though.

At this point if I could find a product that didn't require any scrubbing but carried warnings like "requires gloves or it will peel your fingernails off" I think I'd give it a try.
My wheels are still dirty from winter storage so it will be interesting if they can cut through it. This is pretty much a worst case sceneario for wheels so if it works here it will work anywhere.

I had some residue left, but mine was caked on as well. I dont think this attacks anything other than brake dust. I think 1 final hand scrub, then maintaining with this spray will work best.....but if you spray only the pretty purple sludge running off the wheel will be very satisfying to watch.

My answer is that I only clean them if I'm putting it in a show!

SW2 wheels look amazing
But they are the worst to clean.

Here is the active, color changing version from Surf City Garage. Appears to be exactly the same...bright green to red when it's done working.

Not that cost matters that much, but it is less expensive than the Sonax stuff, works the same and can be picked up at Pep Boys or Amazon, etc.
I'll never used this type of stuff on the Viper as those wheels get cleaned often enough that there is no buildup and come spotlessly clean with a cheap detail spray and a wipe.
But on daily drivers, if there is a lot of brake dust and grime, you still need to lightly agitate with a brush to make the wheels spotless regardless when using Sonax, Code Red, etc. If the chemical is caustic enough to remove old caked on brake dust and dirt without touching it, it isn't going to be good for the wheels, calipers, etc. I know the online videos make it look like it truly is a no touch spray off application, but in my opinion, those are not real world situations with heavily caked on wheels.
If comparing costs, make sure you consider how many ounces are in each bottle, as the bottles can range from 16 to 32 ounces depending on the manufacturer.

I've been using Sonax for a couple years on the sidewinder II's, it works so well I don't even need a pressure washer. Just a high pressure nozzle on a regular garden hose and it gets them like new without wiping. This BDP stuff seems similar, thx for sharing since it always nice to have options.

Keep us updated on how this works! I'm looking for something for my Viper and my Ram. My 20" black powdercoated ram wheels scare me using certain products. I used simple green a couple times and it started to leave this weird residue on the black powdercoating that was almost stained on. Not sure if it was a chemical reaction or just residue but I definitely stopped using that crap!

I use Sonax wheel cleaner and an electric pressure washer on mine it does the job. Then about once every 3 months or so I hit them with Chemical Guys wheel guard to help keep the dust off.

That setup seems to do the trick. Still collects dust of course but not as bad at least I feel.
