Today I took a stop over at the dealer on Route 18 where I had picked out a Dart for my dad. A year later, they finally acquired not one but two Vipers. One in Stryker Red and the other in (I think) Shadow Blue. Both were roped off, (so is/was the black one on Route 1) although I think the velvet was pretty high quality material...and it was red sooo it came out nice in the pics. LOL The SB car was messing with my eyes. The lighting inside wasn't that great and the sun was out only when I took pics of the SR, so to me it looked black. Their website is telling me it's blue, not black but it looked so dull. (and a bit dusty too.)

Not much room I could work with but I think I did okay. Photographing the two I considered a 25th birthday present to myself. :)

Enjoy!

Fantastic shots! Today I had time to kill so I detailed my Viper. Lots of rubber marks from my Buttonwillow Raceway adventure. I keep wondering if the honeymoon period is going to pass, but I can't help but enjoy just staring at Halle Berry when she's all dressed up and racy to party. Took her for a long drive after, and am going for another drive tomorrow to a friend's football party. Little known fact - SR is also known as 49ers Red. Go Niners!

Enjoy your birthday this weekend.

Hey T -

For everything that has been written about the costs of Stryker Red, and the new upcoming colors, I have to admit: Stryker Red is still the ultimate car color that I've ever seen. For those of us who are 'red' lovers, it will never get old. This is a gorgeous, classic color, and it is still my all-time favorite. Period. Worth every penny you paid, as you also know! The rest of you Stryker Red owners know how true this is (under different shades of light, different environments....this paint is simply amazing). Stryker Red 'critics' will think they know better....until they actually see one in person at the local car show. Then, epiphany stikes.

Although, just to raz you a tad, I did like D'Ann Rauh's Stryker Red car a little better than yours ;) The carbon aero package and Laguna leather interior (in Sepia!) just made it simply the most stunning factory built Viper ever...it literally took your breath away. She ordered perhaps the most glam factory-built car ever built in the United States with that one... simply stunning. When her car came through the Conner quality audit review, we all just hoped noone noticed us staring. Mouths hanging open...this car was sincerely more beautiful than any Italian car I have ever seen. And I've seen them all...

America still builds exotics, guys. Don't believe everything you read in advertising-influenced magazines...

Ciao

Awesome shots, kid, we all really appreciate them! You're a good photographer. Go see Maurice Liang, if you want to learn to be a great automotive photographer.

I remember realizing, on my 25th birthday, that I was closer to age 30, than age 20...oh man, ever since then, those mid-decade birthdays have been brutal. Then next one (in 6 years) will be just awful!! I'll be driving my Gen 4 Viper to an AARP cost-reduced lunch price soon!

So, in light of your new realization (sorry about that), I think you need to set a new resolution to own one of these gorgeous cars before you're 30. Seriously.

It took me until I was 45 to afford one, so don't feel bad if you decide to go for a classic Viper instead. I'm recommending Gen 2 roadster if you're on my train of thought, here. Plus, these are a really good buy - fully depreciated, and only increasing in value! You can't say that about a late model Honda Accord or Camry...

thanks again for sharing your great photos with us.

Next post - pictures of your Viper!

Hey Graham,

My plan is to put my Halle up against D'Ann's for Miss Supercar USA because...

I've got a genuine OEM carbon aero kit on its way from Mark J now. Man, I can't wait. Not just for the seriously tough look it's going to have, but now it'll have downforce baby! The Gen V is so damned fast in turn 1 at Laguna Seca and turn 7 at Thunderhill that downforce is really going to help. And I'll be joining roughly 10 Vipers at Willow Springs March 1 and 2, nicknamed the fastest track in the West.
I'm sure you know the track well as that's where the TA media launch lulled a jaded press into unanimous praise. Well done, I think 2014 is going to be a strong year for the Viper.

You and Ralph ought to join us!

Very nice. I like both colors and it looks like they had good enough taste not to put stripes on either car. I really don't care for most of the stripes unless it's a driver stripe on the ACR. Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing them. Happy birthday!!!

Thank you Graham!

I got to meet you back at VOI in October of 2012 during the gen V drives. I had asked you about if the car was difficult to drive and just as you said, it wasn't. I don't think it ever hit me I was in a car with 650hp until after I had gotten out of it, but it was amazing. Following that, I got to pull some laps on the autocross courses in my friend Mark's gen II GTS. I ended up being faster than him and roughly 6 seconds slower than Ralph so I had considered that an achievement!

After driving Mark's car, I fully plan on going after a gen II and for a while I was debating GTS or RT/10, but since you so kindly recommended which one I'll take your advice instead. I've actually been in 24 different Vipers since I started doing photography in 2001. I've been following Maurice, through Viper Magazine and such over the years. We also met at VOI and quickly became two guys shooting Vipers all over North Carolina. His passion also struck mine for Viper collectibles. (I have the right front fascia of the 01' Oreca GTS-R, Tommy Archer hit the wall at Road Atlanta and another photographer friend who was working the corner managed to pick it up and bring it home.)

By the way, it's been a goal of my own to work with you guys over in Auburn Hills. The 12 year old in me has always wanted to work for Chrysler. Would love to cover the SRT tour, that always looks like fun they stop in town. You know it was funny, last night I'm sitting here thinking who's Mr. Viper, it took a minute and then that Toxic Orange Vert of yours popped in my head! Thanks again Graham!

Cool. I used to think those two colors were the hottest ones they came out with. So much so that I ordered shadow Blue Pearl. Got worried about the paint looking too much like black and cancelled. The guy who ended up with my original order was forced by TX to register the car as a black vehicle. Glad I did a 360 & got Red. Though its the "other" red. :)

Great shots. Thnx for sharing

Just out of curiosity is that the car at Viper Exchange that got the 14 color instead of the 13 color?

Different car. My order was placed in late 2012 and came in mid 2013 as a 2013 model; it was a Woodhouse car, DV400495. Hog whisperer (on forums) picked it up. The Tomball car was the only 14 in that color I believe.

Sexy in the sunlight but Clarkson saw it and his first adjective utilized was "subtle". Still rarer than a Launch Edition and my order even came with the Mopar Car Cover.

$150k and $130k, dunno if you can talk them down. I'm guessing it's the height of rebate season, there were actually quite a few people in the place!

I resemble that remark, I too was never a fan of "stripes until The Gen V Launch Edition hit me between the eyes. Lol

I love stripes on the Gen V, but only on certain colors. On my Stryker Red, no way.

My friend Gary has a Shadow Blue GTS with Silver stripes and it's simply breathtaking.

I think the new Stryker Green needs black GTS stripes.
