So I decided to take off my sidewinders 18/19 and go with the 19/19 ACR wheels. Debating either using the Kuhmo 355/30 and 295/25 or what about using the Michelin Pilot Supersports in a 345/30 and 295/30. Anyone have thoughts on this? I also ordered spring caps and spacers to install.

Thanks

Why? The ACR rims are boat anchors. The lightest factory rim is the SW2 that's why they are so popular

Going to sell your sw's? Let me know if you are?

Thx!

I like the look, I won't be tracking the car. Also, exactly everyone has them I want something just a bit different that you don't see on everyone's car.

Maybe get your rims redone in a different color to stand out a bit. I bought a second set of SW2s just for this reason... then you spend the winter trying to figure out what color you want to go with.

ill buy the SW2 off you lol
I am looking to buy any of the factory rims at the moment. Want something other than extreme summers for those random 60 degree winter days. I miss the car so much!

Really? Just how many Vipers with sidewinders are you running into in your neck of the woods? I may have the only set of sidewinders out of 3 million people in my area...

SWs are so nice it's hard for some to understand, I get the unique goal, but ACR wheels are so similar to SWs, I'd bet most average car people wouldn't even know the diff, if I weren't worried about the weight and wanted unique I'd go aftermarket, but that's why there are options, we're all different.

As for tires, for me I'd go Kumho. MPSSs are nice, I've run them on several cars, but they're a real drop in perm from other options for sure. But again perf isn't a major factor for you, so the MPSSs would give you great wear, decent corning and traction in wet, not like a Kumho or Corsa, but I think they're a great daily driving tire, which is what is use them for on my GT500. I'm sure the setup will look awesome, and you can't go too wrong either way on tires.

Wasn't intended to offend anyone! Was just saying many of the viper community have these wheels, on all generations. I merely want something different is all!

Like someone said above, if you go with the ACR wheels (and/or Kuhmo's), it will add a LOT of weight, all rotating mass, so it will really hurt your acceleration and braking. If that means nothing to you, then yeah I agree the ACR wheels look great. But so do the Sidewinders...

I enjoyed the ACRs and Kumhos on the street. They looked great and cleaned up 10x easier than the SWII. While my SWII and Super Sport tires held up better at the track, the Kumhos added traction more than made up for the added weight of the ACR wheels and I improved my lap times last summer with my 2009.

The biggest problem with any 19 inch front rim is that you can't mount the Corsa tire on them that was specifically designed for non-ACR's. It's grip and construction is different due to its narrower width and use as a front tire instead of a rear. I'd be safe in saying it's the highest performing street tire for your GT model, and excellent if you did decide to track it. I'd consider another 18/19 set if you just want to change the look.

My recommendation is don't go with a nice set of forged multi-piece aftermarket wheels. Once you do that, cast wheels of any flavor might as well be hubcaps. For the price of the 1 piece forgeline F14's and other forgeline styles, I can't see running any OEM wheels.

Acr wheels look so similar to the venoms. So much heavier and poor tire selection.

I made my venoms brass. I also have SW2's.

I think at some point i will make my sw2s brass and sell the venoms.

For the winter months I purchased the Gen V Venon "Matt Black", so I could drive it more...but might have been a waste of money as the temperature last weekend was in the 80's. Should have been in the 40's or lower.

I wish they were lighter but they do look amazing. I like the 19" front wheel better than the 18". There are tires available, just unfortunately you have to reduce stability control settings. I turn mine off anyway so I may consider the Michelins.

Thanks, I put the Venoms on so I can drive it in the winter...switch back to the ACR wheel in the spring...to good looking to be sitting in the garage during the winter.
