So call me crazy but I'd really love to get more out of the voodoo, so far my mods are:

-gen v intake manifold
- arrow venom tune
- air intake heat shielding
- smooth tubes
- carbon closeout
- polyurethane bushes sway bar end caps
- stainless brake lines

I do have a Belanger header hf cat setup but it made the car drone so much I went back to stock exhaust, also have the K&N air intake but heard the panel filter with a K&N filter works better?

So it's not like I think the car is slow but really would like more pull, anyone doing a supercharger or turbo kit for a 2010 acr yet? If so what can the engine handle before needing work?

Cheers

I know you said you removed the headers but honestly they are the biggest bang for your buck HP wise. Usually 40-50rwhp alone. Maybe consider headers with HF cats and OEM exhaust to minimize the volume level.

Cam is the limiting factor in the Gen 4. Arrow has a package that changes out to a solid cam while also changing out the pistons/rods. See this thread:

I'm trying to see how far I can get without headers - I've only done high flow cats (mainly because that was the only decent way to get a wideband O2 sensor in the exhaust for tuning), Gen 5 intake manifold, and a tune (done with HPT myself). Still on stock exhaust manifolds and stock mufflers. I personally think a tune is the biggest bang for your buck, and I also think the Arrow calibration leaves a bit on the table. Unfortunately, in order to get the most out of the tune, you either need to know how to do it yourself or find someone that can do it for you, and that will likely be hard to come by in your neck of the woods. These cars aren't hard to tune, but there are some subtle things you need to do that can make a big difference, and most tuning shops won't be willing to put the time into your calibration that I've put into mine.

Even a cam would really require headers, so I'm not sure that would be your best option. The biggest limiting factor of the Gen 4 cam is the exhaust lobe, so I'm guessing you'd not see a lot of benefit to opening that side of things up if you are just going to leave the factory exhaust manifolds in place. The canned tune that was done with the Arrow heads/cam package was also designed around using headers, so if you left the stock exhaust in place, you'd end up running rich on that calibration.

There's always nitrous, but again, the calibration is going to be the sticking point. I certainly wouldn't put your car on the jug with the Arrow calibration you have in there now.

Bottom line: you are at the limit for what you can do with the car. Headers and ported heads will certainly net gains, but obviously aren't without their problems (the drone you've already experienced). Beyond that, you'll need to be willing to make some compromises.

Everyone mentioned this when I asked if there was anything I could do in regards to just swapping out the cam. If the cam in the GenIV is so limiting, then why the heck has nobody designed a better cam for this car without doing the head work? I know Justin from JMB Performance did a cam and spring package for the GenIII but why doesn't anyone offer this on the GenIV? Stock GenIV heads flow almost as good as a well ported set of GenIII heads do, with that being said in conjunction with this "crappy cam" in the GenIV, a cam swap seems like a great idea!

What would be the hp with a gen 5 camshaft installed in a gen 4 ?

Little to none...this has already been tried, and netted about the same numbers as a Gen 4 cam IIRC.

There are cams out there, but you'll have to find someone that knows how to tune it. Most guys around here want a plug and play solution, so they just go with the Arrow package that includes everything. There is also the unknown of how far you can reliably push the hypereutectic pistons...the general consensus has been not very far.

Riddle me this... Without increasing compression, and not increasing the rpm's anymore than what is done with a tune ( I believe 6600), where does the extra strain on the pistons come from?

more air, more fuel equals bigger boom.

Sorry... Adding... without the obvious of the duration of which the valves open and close. Is there that much more cylinder pressure due to this? I'm genuinely asking as I do not know.

Simple answer yet understandable! Thanks

Anyone know what Nth Moto charges for this type of build?
