I just don't get it. I mean I honestly don't and I've paid lots of money for "special" cars over the years. A Porsche 997 GT3? Sure, brilliant machine. R8 V10 with the 6-speed manual...nice. That's why I'm buying an ACR...sure it's going to be a wild ride. But to pay for a special edition that's not special...I just don't get it. I mean a 911R is at least a unique driven experience (though not worth the kinda money people are asking for them either...)

Was going to post exactly this yesterday, but thought id butt hurt the special edition owners. Its "used" has a stripe of paint and stickers. Used black ACRE is 60k lower

$10 for a VooDoo sticker? You forgot the Viper tax. The Stryker decal on the front of a TA is over $30! A VooDoo sticker has to go for $40! That alone makes the car worth the $189,900 he's asking. JK

Do you have this in cut/paste ? Just make it your sig, it'd be easier, lol. I think we all hope these cars will be worth more than 30% their stickers years from now, just that some of us with nearly 20 years of ownership are skeptical, but we're all behind ya, same team and all. Like I've said, special editions are for different buyers, at present we can't seem to get the general buying population to discern the difference in value between $140k GTS's and $85k SRTs. Personally I'm not a fan of any of the combos of special editions or how they're config'ed, but then guys seem to be buying them with hopes of flipping vs driving/tracking, so personal preference isn't a huge factor, it's about collectability, which will happen or won't, either way, whatev's, end of the day even if it doesn't pan out on the collectable side, it's a bad asp mofo to own, so even if you lose you win.

Between the club civil war and gen5 new owners that you describe and new 'collector' status buyers, the population has definitely changed over the past 18 years I've been into vipers. Frankly, if I didn't have vette friends at the track .. I'd have no friends, hehe. Many of the guys I've known with vipers have gotten out after over a decade, moved on to other flavors, hec I almost went McLaren myself, God help me. At this point, I "club" with my race car friends, and CnC with my GT500, the viper I just do for me, kinda like screw FCA and the rest of it all, I love the car, working on my 2nd gen5 here hopefully closing tomorrow on it and off for H/C, etc, and I'll love it .. pinky ring and chain necklace be damned.

I had a Gen3 and now have a Gen5 and can honestly say that I do not have any apparel that references Viper. I can't say the same thing about my Harleys, no I really can't.

I'm glad these ACRs are attracting buyers that wouldn't have previously considered one. This is what happens when you create a great product. It was getting boring deciding which years and models of 911 GT3s to acquire next. ;)

I think you guys should take pride that others not in the Viper circle are taking interest. I consider myself a true car enthusiast and I own a couple of Porsches and a Ferrari. The others I know that acquired or are seriously trying to acquire an ACR are all multiple Porsche car owners. This is a very good thing, most of these guys are legit, and not show off types. :)
