Went out for another weekend at Sebring. Registered to run Sat and Sun and the Sat night session. Because of predicted rain, didn't expect that Sunday would work.
Had a few minor things this weekend...the driver's side tailpipe is sliding under the band clamp and worked its way to the back of the sill opening. This burned the paint and slightly deformed the opening. I was able to nudge it back into place after removing the access panel in the forward rear wheelwell. Went through my first set of rear pads after 3 days and got 3 days out of the front tires. Of note, in this video I pitted out and took a very leisurely out-lap because the left front was at 25#. After this session, noticed that the insider left front started peeling so will never pit-out with less than 28#.

Went a :16, a bunch of :17-:18's so pretty happy with that the third day out with the car and think ~:14-:15's are possible on the stock Kumhos. A few other ACR's were out there running VERY well so will let them post up. Was a great weekend, wish the weather was better today but great company and a fun time. Will be back at Sebring next Mon-Tues for a private event and hoping to whittle down that :16.
Note: I'm using both a Performance Box and a relatively new Garmin setup. The Garmin seems to have quite a few features I didn't know about but having some issues displaying the OBD II data from the Bluetooth device.

Always glad to see Sebring video, and hope to track it one day...so thanks for sharing! The track surface didn't appear to be as rough as I've seen in some videos in the past.
Yeah, risky going out on under-inflated tires...just so hard on them. Definitely a pain to bleed them down if you don't have someone in the hot pits to do it for you, but I'm not really fond of buying more tires than necessary.
Sorry to hear about the exhaust issue, and others should probably check that theirs are tight. I believe you're on the stock exhaust, iirc.

Nice! What mode were you running in? Track? All off?

I predict you will go faster than that. If you clean up your :16.7 lap, which was very solid, by being tighter in a few places where you're wide (T1, T10, T15), not hitting the limiter after the hairpin, going flat in Bishops, and being more progressive with the throttle earlier in the turn will likely get you to the mid :13 range. On a perfect day with a good rabbit in front, the ACRE is a :09 car, possibly even a high :08.

Not sure the car has 2:08's in it but maybe 2:09-2:11 on a clean lap with fresh tires and nobody on track, as in dodge being there trying to set a record lap, or possibly in a tt situation where you may not hit lap traffic. No way it would happen in an hpde event. I think this is only his 2nd time in the car as well.
Nice driving Sean, anxious to hear how the last two days have gone! Thanks for showing helping show us the ropes at Sebring!!!

I'll be back at Sebring on Monday/Tuesday after our race at Road Atlanta this weekend.
Looking forward to being BACK at Road Atlanta last weekend in February!
And yes, my 3rd day in the car so hoping to get a little faster.

What suspension and alignment settings are you guys finding working best at Sebring? I'm just getting around to setting up my car now for the first time.

Stormin Norman ......nice , quick runs and actually not surprised you had a little issue with the exhaust, as Sebring seems to rattle a lot of things loose. Been there twice and always had something fall off or seem to free itself up . Solid, solid , times and imagine you will get a bit quicker , but for an earlier foray in the Snake at Sebring, give yourself a solid A grade. Look forward to seeing more of your videos !

I have never been so it's purely a guess. Because it's bumpy I would want it soft on compression and stiffer on rebound. My theory is the as you hit the bumps it's trying to pop the tires off the track. So you want the compression stroke of the damper to be more compliant. Then the springs because of their reasonably high spring rates are going to want to extend the dampers quickly like a pogo stick. For this reason it needs decent rebound to control that effect. You still want it as stiff as it can possibly be while allowing for the bumps. The last thing you want is a pogoing or porpoising car. Very unsettling. Like our Gen IV ACR that was slammed when we got it. What a mess.
Alignment I would think is business as usual. - 2.5 front, 0 to a touch of toe out front, -1.5 or so rear with a bit of toe in, I run as much caster as I can, 3.5 to 4" in front ride height and 5.0 to 5.5" or in the rear. I am just going off memory for that stuff to be honest. I would err on the higher side so that it doesn't grind off the bottom of the car as you come down over every bump.
Good luck and have fun!!
