To all,

So it is time for my reinspection here in Texas. The car, after 72 months, had a dead battery. Took the car in after 50 miles driven but the dealer said that more miles had to be driven on the car to reset the sensors (primarily evap).

I have researched a ton on this subject, but it seems like people are just guessing when it comes to answer the question on how many miles to drive to get a reading on all sensors, or exactly how many times the car has to be started, driven, put into idle, etc. to get a full cycle of needed activity.

Anybody know the actual answer?

Yes. I have the answer. It has absolutely nothing to do with miles driven. And everything to do with proper completion of drive cycles, which is what the system looks for and monitors.

Pl. I posted a thread 6 months ago about the procedure after an ECU swap on a G4

I'm waiting to fly out if New Orleans and too hard for me to search

What I can tell you is google dodge/chrysler system readiness. It will Show you what to do and you can probably get the system ready in 10-15 miles. Good luck. Mike

Get a cheap obd2 scanner. Seems the new ones have the emission check built in. I have two and both have it. Then you drive it as mentioned above and check for yourself.
