Thought it might be PDV's old car because of the orange painted calipers. Hope the driver was unhurt.

These cars sure are engineered well from a safety perspective. Every crashed car I see looks to have the passenger compartment pretty much untouched. There are some exceptions, but for the most part if I'm going to be in a major crash, I'd want to be in something that's designed to crash. Picture a Mini or Smart Car in a crash like this...

3 months from now after it's fixed it'll be on Ebay with the tag "like new from the factory -- showroom condition"

Hope the driver's OK...agree with above that passenger cell looks pretty solid. I'm honestly surprised but glad.

I don't know about the Mini but the Smart has a full steel reinforced roll cage that been tested extensively. I've never owned a Smart or had plans to but the safety aspect was something that caught my eye when they first came out and it was quite impressive.

Well, I know of one where the passenger compartment got trashed but that was special circumstances. If it were more poorly designed I wouldn't be here.

This does look bad, no doubt, but the driver compartment does look pretty good well intact. Perhaps some banged up knees and being scared out of his mind, but it appears the car did its job.

All of what was there either means someone crashed a gen 5 with him in it or he wrecked the gen 5

Well clearly its a TA, and a TA is a gen V, he is speaking of structural integrity as a personal experience of his, if it isnt a gen V then hes making a statement saying the structure of a gen V has the same crash characteristics of a gen v wich we know isnt true, other wise he would have said "while inside a Gen iv..." but now i know the true story behind it

Boy, you sure like to complicate things. Vprbite had an accident in a 2002 (that's a Gen 2, just so we are clear). He simply states that Vipers in general are really well built when it comes to passenger compartment safety.

Thank you for clearing that up.

As I understand it (some of the engineers reached out to me) they had considered weight saving measures in the past involving the frame but didn't do it for driver safety. Had it not been built like it was, it would have been really ugly for me. Well uglier.

This TA is banged up, but the cockpit (texasram is that more clear? ) looks pretty well intact. Other parts of the car gave way so the people didn't have to. Hopefully.
