Anybody know of any good transport companies, enclosed and reasonably priced? I have used Passport once before but want to compare prices.

+1 on this thread, should be a sticky and used as a reference.

Curious to know too from East Coast shipping to West Coast.

Exotic Transport out of Orlando (I've used them about 10 times)
Reliable (used them twice)

I've used www.plycargroup.com several times in last six months. Enclosed trailers. Professional drivers. In my opinion, as good as Reliable for a bit less money.

The best I've dealt with, late arrangement, knowledgable, and spot on price.

I used reliable for mine. Driver was great, communicated good and friendly. Didn't take long to deliver either.

Road Runner Transport from East to West Coast. 888-777-2123. They were great.

TFX from Toronto Canada. They're constantly down in the US at all big auctions so moving from coast to coast should be do-able. Price would be in CDN funds as well so knock 30% off for you Americans using your Trump dollar.

Thanks for the names.... now how about this one. Have any of you ever bought a car sight unseen? It's from a Dodge dealer and he is sending me pictures, has 24 miles on it. Do I need to hire an inspection service? Don't really want to fly down there...anyways by the time I inspect the car and then the transport company picks it up 2 weeks later something could happen and I still wouldn't have caught it. I'm thinking it would be okay but wanted to get some other opinions.

Risk analysis on your part needs to be performed. I wouldn't buy it sight unseen regardless of miles. I would put money down, fly in and check it out. Might cost you <$1k which is an ok investment to be sure. I put money down on the 05 I have without seeing it, flew in, they picked me up at the airport (DTW) and brought me to their lot. I looked over the car, took it for a test drive, then said OK. They brought me back to DTW and stored it for me until my hauler could get there.

--Edit--
To add on to this, post up the location here and someone might be willing to go take a look for you at it.

I actually did buy mine from a Florida dealer sight unseen. It was new with 5 miles on it and they sent me pictures and videos and I had the shipper call me to talk to me before he loaded it too. There was a lot of trust put in to people I've never met, but it arrived in perfect condition just like described with no issues. I realize it was a huge leap of faith but in my case it turned out perfect. I know that won't be the case 100% of the time.

I bought my last four Vipers site unseen. Three new from Tomball and one from a highly regarded private party. No problems.
A new car from a big name dealer should be perfect.

In the northeast I've used After hours transport and Yerardi Transport. The former took a Lamborghini from RI to new York for a service and back without issue. Soft straps and enclosed. The latter transported the same car to Boston and back just fine. For the ACR the place is out of IL and I know he goes nationwide. I think it was big G's. A two car hauler, enclosed. Traveled through 7 states in frigid weather to me in 3 days. I think reliable is set up more for bulk, their trucks are awesome.

I know you're right, I was thinking about calling wegolook.com to check the car.... problem for me is what happens if the company checks it out and then between then and when the transport picks it up something happens?
It's not like driving to the dealer by your house and seeing the car, make the deal and drive it home.

All I can say is InterCity, InterCity, InterCity!!!! I'm in MA and InterCity gave a top notch performance while shipping my SRT Ram over 3,000 miles from WA and my Viper from AZ this past year. They are located in the northeast, MA by chance.... They ship coast to coast and are regularly seen at Barrett-Jackson and other auctions. I actually think I just saw them on an episode of Gas Monkey too. If you contact them ask for Roy Sewell and tell him Jeremy N. sent you, I have become pretty friendly with him as after working with him twice within a year we realized we lived about 5 minutes away from one another. Roy can be contacted at 800-221-3936 or Roy@Intercitylines.com

After speaking with multiple different shipping companies and then having the pleasure of speaking and working with InterCity I will never use another company! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Also stay away from "transport companies" who all in actuality contact other private companies to do your transport. I only say this because your quality of service experience will be hit or miss.

Have used Intercity , Passport , and Reliable with great results. They are all in the same price range and all are used to taking care of exotic and performance machines. Stay away from Brokers as it is extremely common for them to go all out on price and the car may get there on an open rig --because they switch on the way.

You do get what you pay for. Right now a lot of the high quality rigs are at Barrett Jackson as well as finishing up with the Detroit Auto Show.

I have used Passport before but that was about 14 years ago... my problem is they can take a couple weeks to pick up the car.

Pretty standard time frame ( 2-3 weeks ) for all major carriers as they have to fill up the truck and this time of year weather and things like Detroit Auto Show , Barrett Jackson , also slow down the schedule.

How fast it can get done can vary even at the same company. My SRT Ram came from the most northwest corner of the US and was also in January so the weather was brutal and it's not exactly the most popular route, I think it was about 2-3 weeks before it showed up at the house. My Viper got to me in about one week flat, maybe less and that was from AZ to MA.

Another vote for Intercity! I've used them 3 times to ship cars across the US and each and every time the experience has been flawless delivery and/or pick up was on time and the vehicles were handled with the utmost care. Have also used brokers 2x times and that's frankly hit or miss.

I bought my current sight unseen from a dealership, but it was brand new. To be honest though, I didn't have much choice, as when I bought my car there were only 2 in the country in the color I wanted, and I looked at the other one personally, and it looked like they detailed the car with the same broom they swept the floors with, so the other one couldn't be worse..... Back on topic, it showed up enclosed, perfect.

My last Viper I bought used, I flew down to LA from Canada just to make sure. More chance of things not being what you want when it's used....

They are all right on the money. 1.20-1.25 per mile is very fair to load, be responsible for, and deliver a high end car. IMO.

Has anybody ever used United Routes? I just want to make sure they aren't a broker or sub out their work. I'll probably use Exotic Car Transport out of Orlando but I have to wait 3-5 weeks so I'm just checking faster options.

Point of departure and destination play major roles. Call individual haulers yourself.

I just used Image Auto Group to ship two Vipers without any issues and at reasonable prices. They are a small shipping company (not broker) and based in Las Vegas. Mark Phillips is one of the owners -- you can contact him at 702-219-8125

Intercity does a awesom job have used them several times, used passport once and they would not be my choice again driver did not want to cover the car and would not let me cover until I had to really put som pressure and then did a poor job. Car was moved in and out of trailers on it's way to where going

Another vote for InterCity. Have used them 10 times in the past 5 years and it's always been a great experience. They are true professionals. Only downside it they have long lead times on pickup. Have also used Horseless Carriage, Reliable, Exotic Car Transport, TopLine, etc....with no major issues. Seems like a lot of it depends on the driver but only real horror show was with PlyCar last year with a GT3 RS delivery that took 3 weeks from pickup to delivery....

We use United Routes and have never had an issue. They have large trucks and sub out some routes if we need to meet a shipping deadline. Their communication is great and we have never had a customer complaint with any Viper delivery so far. Our contact is Aron. PM me if you would like his information.

Thanks, I ended up using Aron @ United Routes since they were the ones that picked up my red SRT that I sold. They subed it out to a small 2 car trailor with ramps and no lift, which cleared the front splitters luckily. I was more than okay with this because I only gave them 2 days notice and they were there. I literaly agreed to a deal on monday, called Aron, bought the car on Wed in Vegas and loaded it the same day and was back in Florida on Saturday to unload my car. It would have been nice to have a lift truck but you can't beat that kind of last minute service with no delay.

Your experience is very consistent with every Viper delivery we schedule with him.
