Big Truck, 37 inch tires caused all the damage. I was parked beside it in the parking lot. All cover by his insurance $4200 total

that does suck, I have a white car, and the fender was repainted, it seems like it never 100% matches at different viewing angles.

Paint the whole side of the car and blend it in.

I would go after his company for diminished value , as the Viper will never be worth what is was prior to the accident. Fixed or not, it will have a Scarlet Letter on Autocheck and Carfax.

So in the past I've had to deal with this as well and I would say that it's likely an uphill battle if you can get diminished value or not. If you had frame damage or it was a major accident, then sure no question you'd be able to get some sort of compensation for diminished value. Just body work is hard to get the insurance company to see things your way. It's not fair and I hate insurance companies, but keep the pictures for documentation when/if you sell the car so you prove the accident was just a minor body repair.

Uphill battle or not , he can have his Insurance Company go after the other company as it will easily be worth 5K less upon resale at a minimum. There are only around 32000 of these handbuilt beauties made and he now has a car that will never get top dollar from a buyer due to someone else's negligence.

I would be worried about the work if a shop told me they could do all that for $4,200!

Ha! When I sideswiped my M5 it was almost $30k, but the damage looked a bit worse than that...

Bingo. This is one of the biggest things about painting a car that many people don't think about. You must blend it. A talented painter can do a blend that is almost impossible to see. Painting one panel is gonna stick out like a sore thumb.

Tell the shop they screwed the pooch if they just painted a fender panel.

Do you ever get the phenomenon where you park way the hell out with dozens of spaces in all directions, come out and there are 2 cars parked right next to yours? That drives me nuts. When I have the Viper I use my blue pass of needed.
Sorry to see this but at least it's just cosmetic. Frame, motor, suspension are all fine. That's good.

I have lots of photos to prove only minor damage. I don't sell cars so its not an issue.

My paint was blended in. It looks fine 99% of the time. But sometimes, when the sun is just right, and you walk past it at the right distance, you can tell. Luckily its my daily driver so I dont really care. My other silver car, simply does not have this problem after its paint work. So I assumed white was a tuff one to make perfect.

Were the front and rear panels damaged or are they just removed so they can be painted correctly?

Correct, all panels were removed for paint. NO damage to the front or rear fenders. Only the door and lower under the door.

I hope I never need paint work done.. It looks great but when I look at it, all I can see is a painted door. Would drive my crazy. I think when I park, just going to put cones around it. Lol

In this country, if you cone your car you're going to get keyed for sure. Same if you take more than one space. The best you can do is park in the middle of nowhere but like a magnet, you will be surrounded. The vast majority of people appreciate the car and want to chat. I've had the hood up in a traffic jam so other drivers can take pics. There are more than a few d**bags out there that can't accept that you have a viper and they don't. Large pickups seem to revel in tormenting us and more than once I have had to get in through the passenger door. Best one was in Galveston Texas and a truck pulled in as we were approaching the car. He was so tight against my drivers door that his female passenger couldn't get out, yet he was standing on the sidewalk already. She made eye contact with me and then berated him until he got back in and moved the truck. Drive your car and enjoy it!:)

Thanks bud! But i was just joking about the cones. I'll just put it in a bubble:-) I try to pick parking spots that are against a curb. So you can pull in close to the curb and you don't have a car on one side. And the side that does has more room. And park far. I don't mind walking. I have done this with all my vehicals. At least when it's possible. Sometimes u don't have a choice. I always do a drive through the parking lot to find the best spot. But you can only do so much to prevent idiots from hitting your car.
