I've got a track event this weekend with my '16 ACR and forecast calls for rain both days.
I'm not going to push the car hard, just do the best I can to get my time trial points for the weekend.
I run Hoosier's normally, but have my factory Kumho's and also some Sidewinders with 4 year old Corsa's. (Will Sidewinder's even fit on the ACR??)

Pretty sure the SW2 won't fit over the ACR front brakes. Guess that would leave me trying the Kumhos?

Hoosier rains will make you look like a hero
Light or heavy rain? Light rain new Kumhos work if you can get a little heat in them . If there is standing water watch out .
One thing in the rain to remember is dull wet looking surface is your friend shinny looking is your enemy. Always look for the dull areas of the track . Stay off painted surface and don't drive the dry line until it starts drying out. Watch out when you have to cross the dry line.( oils build up in the dry line asphalt and release during the rain)
Smooth inputs and don't fight the car. Soften the car up as much as possible.
Be prepared for that nice puckering feeling . Rain was what I hoped for when I raced for teams that had smaller budgets thus underpowered cars. Big equalizer that allowed me lots of wins :)

Thanks. I'll bring the factory wheel/tire setup. Rain chances just dropped from 60% to 20% so hopefully I wont need them.

It's Arizona, so usually light rains in the winter (heavy in the summer). Great info here, thanks!!

Depends on the brakes...steel ones they will do fine. Kumho's front require 35 PSI and Corsa on a non ACR require 29 PSI. When I have the Corsa on I put 33PSI in the front tires so not to get a msg telling me to go to 35 PSI. Dry track with high speeds might not want to use the SWII's as they are reported somewhere not to be strong enough with the down force applied due to the ACR's areo. I'm using the Corsas so I can drive (non-track) during the winter months.

Hoosier wets are good, but a true racing rain like a Dunlop or Pirelli are like cheating. I raced in a Porsche spec series (964 cup in C1) and was 4 seconds a lap faster on my Dunlop rains than my nearest competitor on Hoosier wets. Yeah, they're that good.
