Hello guys!

This is my official first post & I am beyond excited to be part of voa for many years to come!

So I have yet to drive my acr & I plan to follow the manuals exactly in regards to break ins as soon as I do. So it says maintain speed under 55 mph for the first 100 miles. But then on step 3 of the brake burnish procedure it says apply brakes 6 times starting at 90 mph. So how can I do the brakes if I can't exceed 55 mph? Correct me if I am wrong but won't I need to break in both the motor & brakes the exact same time or I don't need to worry about the
brakes just yet for casual driving? Perhaps it's only when I finally decide to hit the track then I am required to do the brakes prior to that? Lastly is the very first oil change at 500 miles?

Please help me with this I don't want to mess up!

p.s. excuse me if this is a repost or there is a similar post...

Thanks for the time guys! :anonymous:

Don't worry about the brakes until after you first 100 miles. And don't do any hard stops during that first 100.

My opinion is to follow the engine / drivetrain break in procedure as closely as possible. Don't worry about the brakes until at least 300 miles, in fact the manual says to avoid aggressive braking until after 300 miles. Since you aren't supposed to be on track until 1500 miles according to the break in procedure you could even wait until then, they will perform fine on the street.

Under 55mph? Damn I was hoping to get my car out of third gear sooner than the first 100 miles. Oh well, 81 to go...

Thanks everyone for the great inputs! I will just down shift thru the gears way ahead to slow down when ever I need to stop! This way will allow me to use the brakes to the very least!
