One of the best videos I've seen in a long time. The lifestyle I dream of..... go through the drive-thru in millions of dollars worth of cars and not giving a shit if you spill a milkshake... HAHAHA!

Yeah Salomondrin's film production on this was amazing. Sadly he has sold the ACR and now is producing more fanboy content rather than true enthusiast based. The channel has turned into him and his buddies leaving his house to go find a spot in LA to go eat lunch and is pretty boring to watch now. I went to one of his events out here in Costa Mesa and the crowd it drew was mainly teenagers.

Agreed. His stuff the last couple months now is mostly fluff. Did he actually sell the ACR, or is it just in storage. And does he actually buy all his cars, or just have deals where he uses them for a while. Unless you're SUPER rich, you just can't drop a half-mill a week on the latest supercar.

Just wonder if the reason the steering broke is because they went off of the track. It's at the end of the video but they never mentioned it.

He had it on consignment last time I checked I think for around 135k. He is actually pretty well off I believe and owns a bunch of commercial property. I'm sure he has some sort of handouts as he seems to go to places that let him take a car a for a day(s) to make his YouTube lunch trips lol.

I wonder what happened to the steering rack - that's definitely not something that's prone to breaking as far as I know. When I saw "it broke" I figured either the engine gave up or the differential went south.
Was fun to see that it beat the others. Definitely the best supercar bargain out there - even if it did get last place in "everyday use" scoring.

The acr was most certainly for sale. I think it sold too. I can't stand his videos anymore as his crew is rather annoying.
He did give the Viper praise overall and to be blunt, he probably brought more positive attention to the car than most of fca Viper marketing in general. He has hundreds of thousands of views per video and when he was praising the Viper, that does a lot for the Brand.
His cup banger videos were great but they quickly lost luster to me. I will say I'm really looking at mclaren much more closely as a result of his videos.
Edit: this thread could be merged as this video was posted awhile ago and discussed on the forums.

It really is a testament to the handling of the Viper in the turns, because the Lambo and 675LT destroy the Viper in straight line acceleration.
Sorry for the repost.

I've mentioned before, I'm only a couple miles from McLaren of Philadelphia (it's actually here in Chester County, in West Chester) and, they (and their local clients) are regulars at our C&C, and sometimes we drive over there as well. 570, 650, 675 close up and personal! A friend of mine just sold his 458, and has a 570 on order for March delivery. They are impressive cars, no doubt. For some reason, they don't "speak" to me though. Can't put a finger on it. Not that I'd kick one out my garage though!!

The amount of money saved by buying the viper over any of those cars could be used to modify the viper to completely destroy any of them. Those are some badass cars but just that no one ever seems to mention that.

I wish the Viper program would continue with budgets and focus as those other super cars and then see a real american ass kicking..
Edit: Ha! Not to say that it hasn't been real up until this point.

This!! ↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑
This should be very important to any of us, especially those that are tracking these cars hard. The steering rack going out on the highway, let alone a high speed corner at the track could be fatal.
If anyone has any info on what happened, please post it here.

I guess I'm the only guy who hates the look of the McLaren, it reminds me of some sci fi insect. Never liked those cars. Love the Viper, hell even the Porsche is mean looking.

Many Mustang, civic and other lower tier car fan mentions this exact point. Super slippery slope.

Salomondrin couldn't find the Viper battery when it died so I wouldn't rely on his self report to what broke too much.

Yes, this was posted a while back..but it was interesting to watch where the driver was looking (ahead and down track) and where the passengers were looking (straight ahead)!

Maybe so, but the viper already has the handling and big NA motor. Very little mods needed.

Yes but they could have used an ACRE with an Arrow H&C set up and they still would have been the only car under $200,000 like mentioned. Then it would have done some damage on the straight line drags and improved the times on the track (with the right driver).

I doubt they'd have any idea about Arrow. Seem very focused on production cars and the latest and greatest statement cars.

I agree. In one of the other videos, salamondrin said he like the Viper because it was going to allow him to learn so much about being a better driver and how to set up a car with adjustable suspension and aerodynamic. I guess in the end he really isn't that much into the actual driving and learning about the tuning of cars. He's more about the cars and their looks and spec sheet. He's a street driver which is fine and he did do the Viper justice.

Agreed. I was a bit surprised me moved on from the ACR so quickly but the 911R is undoubtedly a better road car experience.

My point was that with the money saved from buying the viper over any of those cars.
