Ya know I was wondering this exact thing and even mentioned it at our Christmas party. The old saying "if it sounds too good to be true..." Popped in my head. I was concerned I would end up buying a paper weight.

If it turned out they were bad, I suppose a port and polish might fix it but at that point I might as well just get mine done.

Have their been specific cases of those being factory discards or something like that?

Wowzers! Sounds like those cheap heads are actually just an exoensive paperweight or boat anchor, depending on your location.
