I was curious as to what the car would make, so I took it to the dyno this afternoon. It was about 80 degrees out and the AIT were around 94.
Couldn't be happier with the power it made!
Here are both SAE and Standard numbers.

Impressive NA power for sure!
I've never really chased HP with any of my cars, usually preferring to spend money on brakes, suspension, and setup instead, but if I did, this is the path I'd take, especially for road course work.

No we've had a one or two in the 690's but every build receives the same parts and they all run the same numbers in the 1/4 (roughly). Dynos are all different, some read higher and some read lower than others. The package is incredibly consistent car to car, dynos from city to city and state to state can show a pretty big swing in the numbers.

Yes Sir! Going to be awesome! I'm waiting on the Triple carbon clutch but it should be here very soon. Might get started on the other bits while we wait on the clutch.
Congrats again, and to the others who have builds planned when their 17's show up.

Will the stock clutches in these cars hold that power on a tire? I haven't kept up with the Gen V's, but the Gen II clutches were very stout and held up to serious power even on DR's.

From a roll they'll (OEM) hold up to 900rwhp without much fanfare. From a dig you can lose them in stock form on DR's. I have had a few Road Race customers switch over to the triple carbons just because of the way it feels when shifting and revmatching. The tranny feels sharper and more precise. I would put one in every build if the customer would let me.

My factory clutch held 972whp/1075trq from a 60mph second gear roll. I made many many passes on it. Don't try any digs or low rolls with a sticky tire with that much power.

No but Tony Caton here bought one specifically for that. I know he ran a bunch of 10.0's about a month ago but I think they were all on the stocker.

Ti exhaust.
Did you do the cats or catless? I have the Ti exhaust with arh headers and no cats and it's loud( in mostly awesome ways). I know you heard my Quick YouTube clip of it and I'd be interested to see how you like no cats or if you did add high flows, would they muffle them enough to make a difference or should I just leave them off. Nice numbers btw.

I got the same setup as you and went with no cats. Yes it is loud as you know but I don't mind it. Didn't want to sacrifice any bit of HP by adding cats.

Stock clutch is excellent on the road course and roll racing. It does not live very long when slipped at the drag strip. I was able to wear the clutch down to almost the rivets holding the friction pads on the disk, after about 30 runs at the drag strip on a drag radial. That only netted 2 runs with 1.6 60' times, the rest were 1.7s-1.8s.
Problem is mostly the long 1st gear ratio, makes the cars harder to get off the line without slipping the clutch hard.

Great numbers Paul! More importantly than that, it's awesome that you're out enjoying the car and showing people how fantastic the Viper platform is!

Yes actually, Dan Fox went to the track back in the July heat of Atlanta on pump gas and did three 1.64-1.68 60's in a row on the shorter 19" wheel combo with literally no effort - it was almost comical watching the passes.
The change to the taller 18" setup made it a lot trickier down in FL a few months back as first gear is just crazy long then for a proper launch. It still trapped over 167 mph a few times not really getting going until 200' out, ha! It was putting around (or more than) 40mph on the back half of the track! :dude3:

The 2.26 first is for sure a tough one, and more difficult yet when you start adding a taller tire and a taller rear gear ratio for ultimate dragstrip use, but the transmission ratios themselves are so odd that it's hard to find the perfect compromise. The stock clutch has a lot of variance from car to car on if it is indeed fully releasing at high RPM gear changes. The synchronizers will hide it for a while, but eventually they give up the ship. You immediately notice a difference when our carbon clutch is installed, even when you thought the stock unit was great.

I would be curious to see what sort of numbers you'd get on a Mustang/Eddy Dyno since Dynojet is a rather optimistic system.

Mustang dyno will read lower. This is the dyno I used with my TA so I trust this dyno. My TA ran really well on motor and this viper is making 60+whp.
I did this just out of curiosity, we will see how it runs once I make a few videos.
So far I have ran a 798whp Shelby, bolton Viper on HP tuners and a bolton E85 GTR. By the way I pulled those cars I would say those numbers are spot on!
^ I have seen the Shelby video, but are there vids of the other encounters? :)

No. TRC has been out of town. We tried to setup some runs last night but it rained. Hopefully this weekend I'll run the Turbo S with upgraded turbos.
