Well... New to me. Finally stepped up into a 2014 GTS after selling my 2006 vert a couple months ago. And wow!!! What a night and day difference. Also I happen to be the only Gen V here in Hawaii! Picked up the car a few days ago from the port and the weather hasn't been the greatest here. But managed to put a few miles in.

For now though... How can I update my username?

Congrats! I too came from a Gen 3, and while they are certainly very capable cars, this Gen 5 is another level, as you said.

Oh, I guarantee your weather is better than where I am now! Happy New Year, and enjoy!

Awesome. I've been to Honolulu twice and once to the big island and once to Maui. Definitely one of the nicest places on earth. Enjoy your new toy in paradise!

Consider yourself lucky!

I picked up my Gen V on Saturday, November 19th - 65-70 degrees and beautiful! That same evening the temps dropped to ~30 and it seems to have done nothing but rain ever since!

I managed to get it registered and insured, but still no required State Inspection/Emission stickers on my windshield, so technically it's illegal to drive until I do.

I put a total of 15 miles on it so far, and I figure snow and salted roads are right around the corner. Probably sit until March/April now...

Nice Ride - Congrats!

Congratulations on the new car! I am sure you will enjoy the hills and turns of Hawaii with that car.

Congrats! Beautiful car, I'm a huge fan of white. Is the pic at Sandy Beach? I used to live in Kailua. I had a Turbo when I lived there, and the drives were beautiful, but it was so hard to ever find a place to push the go pedal. I'm sure it's much worse in a Gen V Viper. Enjoy your new toy and drive safe.

Way cool to see a Viper in Hawaii!! Wondering what island you are on, though the lava near the beach would possibly give an indication of the Big Island? Look forward to hearing about folks reaction to the Snake slithering around the roads of your home -- we need plenty of pics ,ha.

Been working for Woodhouse for just over 24 years , and have sold trucks ( including two Viper trucks ) and a few cars to Hawaii, but never a Viper. Chatted with guys who wanted one, or who had one , and remember chatting with a guy who had one on the big Island years back , so wondered if that was you? Has to be fun to have something that no one else has and am sure you cause a commotion whenever you go somewhere?

Enjoy and congrats.

The pics look Oahu. I'm looking forward to more as well.

Figured Oahu was the most likely , but have been to Maui, Kauai, Oahu and there are stretches on all that look similar. Took the wild shot that it might be the big Island, as used to talk to a guy with a convertible there ( couldn't remember the year) , but you are probably correct .

Thanks everyone! Finally dried up today and was able to get a couple small sprints in. I need to get these High Flows installed. I miss the raw deeper sound of my GEN III that had no cats.

Here is a pic of my old GEN III with downtown Waikiki and Diamond Head in the background.

When and what color was the GEN IV you bought from here? I know of a handful of GEN III's, a few GEN II's and only seen one GEN IV.

Yep... I was out visiting a friend in Hawaii Kai and decided to check out Sandy's for a few pics.

Nope we haven't talked before. I've lived on Oahu for 3 years now. Been out to the Big Island a few times. Could probably open it up a bit more if I lived there. I found a few nice windy roads here. Plan on getting a 360 camera and trying to hit them up to post a couple videos. The Australian and Japanese tourist that visit here go nuts when they see the car. Not too many Vipers in their countries to begin with.

I haven't had any issues with rusting yet. But know some older cars do. Too many plastic cars driving around now

Seem to remember shots of your 2006 and gotta be so cool to have one of the few Snakes on the Islands, especially a Gen V.

Love the license plate on the 06 , by the way ( DAT ASP )

Thanks Bill! Going with different plates for the new one. They should be here within a month and I'll post it up.

I have the DAT ASP T Shirt , so your plate works well. My plate currently reads BADD ASP , which is a lot easier to figure out than my previous one FSTOLMN ( Fast Old Man ,ha). Notice you are a New England Member, so stab in the dark are you over in Hawaii serving in the Armed Services, perhaps?

Hahaha... Good plates! I have the shirt DAT ASP that Blipshift put out last year if that's the shirt you're talking about?

I am enlisted AF for 13 years now. I don't have a club out here (not enough owners). So I put the New England Club down to help out a bit with their chapter. They hooked me up by checking out my car for me before I committed to buying it.

Thanks for your service ( my father was an Air Force Fighter pilot by the way) and good way to reward the good guys in the New England Club. That is the T Shirt I am referring to and whether it is Dat Asp or Badd Asp, they both work for this beast. We all are going to require you to send great shots of the car , and if one or two women in bikinis are accidentally in the same picture so be it, ha. If you ever have any questions feel free to give me or Mark Jorgensen a call.

There was a place here that was renting a GEN IV vert Viper. But I haven't seen it for about 2 years now.
