Best bet at this point is to upgrade to GEN III/IV wheels and get tires that match those.

The answer is usually to ask someone who sells Viper tires, like Jon at viperpartsrack, or Luke at Tirerack. Jon ends up a little cheaper usually than going direct to tirerack,

What about the BF Goodrich g-Force Rival-S ?

A lot of those 19" Pzero 2012 production tires are still floating around for $100 each. I've seen many people reselling them, some for profit some not, but I bet you can find some if you search all the forums and FB groups.

George , get ahold of Luke at the TireRack and get a set of BFG Rival S tires as suggested above. Reasonably priced and a lot of guys running in autocrosses ( various types of cars ) really like the tire. Sure it will wear a bit quicker , but the steering response and stick on the road will be worth it.

Gen 2 wheels are not defective. The Gen 3/4 wheels are not an upgrade. They are simply a different OEM wheel.

Stop calling everything you do to your car an upgrade. It isn't.

Suggested the BFG rivals over the Toyos as George normally just drives his beast on the street , and it is quite a bit better in the rain than the R888s. Bit more money, but should have a bit better tire life and recent tests on the track even show it equal to or faster than the R888. But those are about his only choices anymore.

BFG 's are good too but sadly I can't get those in the UK :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR Bill :)

Hopefully they will get the R888Rs in Viper sizes soon, as they seem to be a nice improvement over the conventional R888s. Happy New Year to you also, and frankly surprised you are not out partying British Style , since the magic hour for you is only about 4 hours away, ha. Please , since I am obviously of English Heritage with a name like Pemberton, would you please have a pint or two for me at the appropriate time in the United Kingdom ?!Cheerio!

Just about to walk up to the local Pub for some real Ales, to see the New year in. Then tomorrow morning am getting the Viper out to go to Claremont corvette coffee and biscuits morning ( its the only time Tom Falconer "the owner" gives anything away free) Then tomorrow evening off to Italy Skiing. :)

Happy New Year Everyone

Nobody said they were defective. I know I didn't. All I did was offer a suggestion, as have others on this thread. You have a wealth of knowledge Dave. Perhaps you could offer an opinion to the OP vs tearing down somebody elses suggestion?

I put a new set of PS2's all the way around my stock 97 wheels a few months ago through NTB.

If I still had a Gen II, I would definitely understand the desire to keep it as-is. But your choices abound with 19/18s. I would store the stock wheels and put newer Viper wheels on it as the best compromise. JMO of course.

If one was to change a part on a vehicle that wasn't defective, when would it be considered an upgrade? Would installing ACR smooth tubes not be considered an upgrade when the original tubes weren't defective?

Wouldn't worry, back in the days we did smooth tubes on virtually every Viper we sold.

Do you have any Dyno numbers on this! :) I pretty much thought they were for cosmetics, cause I know there's Definitely No Extra seat of the pants feel after installing them. Hopefully, nu yark's not going to Flag me now cause this was Too Negative! :(

Dodge did the dyno for you. Look at power output from an ACR and a standard GTS. Only engine difference was the smooth tubes and K&N filters.
