Does anyone that has an ACR -E, or I guess any ACR for that matter have an extra set of wheels and tires for normal street duty? If so, what wheels and what tires? The stock tires are probably not the best option for everyday street driving.

Best bet for normal street duty would be those lucky folks with an ACR or ACR-E that has steel rotors. That would enable you to purchase a set of regular Gen V rims and put a set of P Zeroes or Corsas on, as the 18 inch rims will fit over the steel rotors. As of now , tough situation with the CCBs, as you would need a custom front rim done and not even sure what street tire might work? Anyone who has a solution will be a hero , and I thought maybe a 285/19 P Zero might work but have not heard of an actual application. Good question as a long term concern for many ACR owners I am sure.

Mark Jorgensen has an application for those running slicks , with an 18 inch rim, but not sure on the application at all, as noted, on street tires.

There is a thread about wheels for the ACR and some people use a 18"/19" with slicks and when I asked about it, someone said that the wheels clear the calipers.
I believe that Finspeed makes 18" that will clear the calipers.

After that, yes, it's also a matter of finding the appropriate tire...

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm very pleased with the Kumhos as street tires. Don't really see a reason to change them even if there were other options.

Curious if you have been caught in a down pour yet. I have not driven the Kumhos but I would think they would not be great in the rain. Our club regularly takes fairly long (overnight) road trips - several as long as 10 days. It is not unusual that at some point we'll hit rain. Heck the PZeros have scared me on more than one occasion in heavy rain.

I have, once, and prior to doing so I was terrified of the thought. It turned out to be a non-issue, and the car behaved well. That being said, the roads were wet, but didn't have standing water. The biggest issue with the ACR in the wet is the louvers spraying crap everywhere.

Still think it would be a great idea for someone to sell a shield that could be mounted on the underside of those louvers for street driving.

Dont you find that the Kuhmos being a stickier tire throw a lot of rocks than the P Zeros
? I put more miles on the track than on the street with my ACR but when I did drive on the street I thought the rocks were horrible.

I only notice the pebbles at parking lot speeds and on dirty roads. But yes, the Kumhos do like to pick up everything they drive over. Doesn't bother me, and I'm pretty careful about where I drive it.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it might have to do with the fact that my car is a GTC. Not sure what yours is, but I've never driven a regular ACR.

I purchase a set of Venom Matt Black wheels from Capital Dodge in Garner, NC (Also a national sponsor here - got to give them a plug) for my 2017 is ACR w/o carbon brakes. By putting a set of Corsa on the ACR allows me to drive in colder and wet conditions (thus get more use out of the car year round. For track purposes, will use the Kuhmos, but only see me going to the track 2-3 times a year.

Below are some photos of the front tires with compared height difference. Take taken in a very uncontrolled environment (my garage) but as you can see the front height of the 18" Venom's is close to that of the 19" ACR wheel (when doing the math the overall height difference is less than 1/8 of an inch. I placed each wheel side by side and took the pic - it looks like the tires are leaning, but it was the photographer (not so good).

Also the inserts were done by Ben (bjg32), they turned our really nice.

I didn't check the rear wheels/tires for heights difference as they both have the same reported dimensions...when I take the rear wheel off I will do the level test on them. I don't know if thread depth of tire has anything to do with overall height of the tire. I have driven the ACR with the Corsa and all was good...no codes.

The difference is indeed negligible between the ACR's 295/35R19 and the standard 295/30R18 tires. This is a handy calculator: https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=295-25r19-295-30r18

I also took a screen cap with the results.

I plan to do the same thing if/when I get an ACR with steel brakes (I don't want the CCBs). I have been advised by SRT's vehicle dynamics engineer that you must periodically check the wheel (inside and out) for evidence of cracking since the non-ACR Viper wheels were not designed for the downforce of the ACR. He says they are not as strong as the ACR wheels. He also suggests running slightly higher tire pressures in non-Kumho tires to prevent them from feeling squirmy. They apparently don't have as stiff a sidewall to hold up to the downforce.

Again, I have no experience with this setup but I did ask the engineer about it.

I would assume his advice is mainly for above normal highway speeds when the dangerous downforce is produced, but I too know nothing....lol.

I would assume the same thing. Tracking probably. I checked on this last Spring when I thought I could swing an upgrade of my TA. But then I retired so that idea got shelved.

Pirelli makes the P zero in 295/30-19 , 1 inch or so larger diameter than the front kuhmo. Aside from raising the ride height by 1/2 or so , what other issue is there with running them for street driving? You could adjust the coilovers down a little to get the front closer to stock ride height.

Conceivable that this could cause issue with the stability system and ABS as it's monitoring rotation of the tires relative to each other and a map.
