Hello everyone,
I have recently purchased a nearly new ACR-E here in the UK which was imported by another Brit a few months ago. The car was originally bought from one of the well known main dealers specializing in Vipers in the US. When the previous owner(who bought the car unseen)asked the dealer to prepare the car to send it to the UK, he asked if he could have the seat lowering kit installed in the car as he was 6'8" tall and needed this to fit. Unfortunately when the car came to the UK and despite the seat lowering kit the guy just felt he couldn't get comfortable so put the car up for sale through a dealer, after which I bought the car.

Being only 5'9" myself I thought I could find a way to adjust the fixed lowered rails by drilling some new holes to bring the seat forward a bit-which I managed to do by about an inch and a half-the maximum you can place the seat with this kit. Although this has improved things a lot for me I'm still not 100% happy with seat and probably need the seat just a touch forward again-despite the pedals being placed as far back as possible.

So I have no other choice than to put the original seat rails back on. The problem is that the previous owner said the original rails did not come with the car as the dealer who installed these did not leave them in the car for him. I contacted the dealer who did the conversion but he says he doesn't have these anymore despite being only 6 months ago.

JonB(who obviously was not the dealer who fitted the seat lowering kit) has kindly tried to source these for me but says that he cannot find a matching left and right rail for the drivers side.

I don't know what to do at this point , so I am reaching out to anyone who has had the seat lowering kit fitted and feels they could part/sell their old standard seat rails for my manual seated ACR so I can get 100% comfortable in the car! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for listening.

Congrats on your purchase but we need to see pics of your car first lol. Would love to see it the acr at Silverstone.

Regarding your seat issue I wish I could help but why not try to move the pedals forward ? I think it might help as they are adjustable in the viper.

The OP in his original post says that the pedals are adjusted all the way already. "-despite the pedals being placed as far back as possible. "

The OP in his original post says that the pedals are adjusted all the way already. "-despite the pedals being placed as far back as possible. "

I read that but if he was looking for more forward movement in his seat he could move the pedals closer to him not as far back as possible.

The OP would have to clarify but when he said "back" I was thinking he meant towards the back of the car or closer to the seat not towards the floor boards.

Correct George. Cheers

You may need to buy an entire seat from Dodge, I suspect the rails do not have their own part number since they are riveted to the seat itself. With the extra seat you could always have it made into a cool office chair?

Did you try any of the Viper recyclers? Paul Scharf or the like?

No, we have take off parts from time to time that customers don't want or want us to dispose of during builds. We originally built this car for the previous owner so it was more a matter of finding a gen V set that hadn't been tossed yet. I didn't think we had a pair left over but luckily we did.

Glad it worked out for the OP, and it's cool to see more Vipers going to the UK!
