View Full Version : Viper TA sits so low it swipes credit cards

Sometimes I look at the car and can't believe how low it sits at stock ride height. The front lightly scuffs every time going in and out of my driveway regardless of approach angle. It lightly scuffs under braking on track into a couple of particularly demanding corners. It scuffs at many gas stations. It's scuffed in road construction zones. I've had to turn around on a couple of occasions approaching road construction where there was no way I'd get through...no biggie.
I've measured its ground clearance a few times with a credit card, which is generally about the same size. Here's the last time in my driveway after returning from a track day and about to clean off the car. Viper TA swipes credit card, and gets stuck...you saw it here first!

So yeah, I'd have to say unequivocally that the car's stance and ride height is absolutely perfect!

Now I'm going out to shovel a few inches of snow that just fell on that driveway :( That's :Canada:

My stock height car can scrape those little air deflector thingies getting out of my driveway, or on a bad bump on the road. I have to be especially careful over railroad crossings (we have a few here in my area). I don't how people lower these Gen 5s, wouldn't work here on some of these cowpaths they call roads here in PA.
PS - We also got about an inch of snow/ice/slush outside right now. The Ram handled it great!

Yes by 30mm ;)

Yes by 30mm ;)
The 30 in a tire is a percentage of the overall width of the tire. Not MM.
I'm assuming you are talking about the tire height.

Glad you guys are having fun with this one...and no, I'm not posting a picture of the other side of my credit card!
They might pull out the Rams in PA but north of the border we need to switch to another mode of transportation and prefer festive driving suits!

I went out to the garage last night and checked the Credit card Height for fun. My car sits 2/3rds high of a credit card :)
I went out this morning to a Supercar meet, we had two koenigseggs turn up and the first Gen 5 ACR-E The ACR had the suspension adjusted up high and sat at A full credit card and 1/3rd of a card.
When it came time to leave the carpark I had to get out of my car and push it over the hard rubber speed ramp as I ground out on the side splitters and with me out of the car I just had clearance! (Just as well it was level ground otherwise the car would have rolled away)!21785

I suspect people are going to think you're a bit off going around measuring cars with a credit card ;)
