Since 2017 is an off year for NVE, as we always do, we use this time to host a variety of multiregional "Bucket List" events to keep you busy. These events take place in a variety of interesting places across the globe and earmark some special experiences. From the infamous Tail-of-the-Dragon, to road racing in Texas, to a lavish automobile tour of Italy - they create special memories and provide exclusive club experiences you couldn't easily have on your own! Our Bucket List website is being updated with the 2017 events and will be live shortly. As a preview, so you can mark calendars (and so regions can try to avoid these dates for local events where possible), the below is a little teaser of what's to come and when! We'll see you out there!

TAIL OF THE DRAGON
JUNE 1-4, 2017 (NORTH CAROLINA/TENNESSEE)
http://driveviper.com/images/front-page/TOD.jpg

The tail of the Dragon is considered by many as one of the world's foremost motorcycling and sports car roads. Join us for a weekend of excitement as we experience this stretch of US 129 with 318 curves in 11 miles! We'll also enjoy a scenic drive with stops along the Cherohala skyway which is 40+ mile long National Scenic Byway. However, driving isn't the only event on the venue. We'll also experience the many attractions of Gatlinburg, fantastic dining, and exclusive Viper friends! Set aside a few days of vacation and experience the beauty of the mountains! The cost is $80/pp. Contact Joel Hausler for more information (615) 308-3358.

TUSCANY & MOTOR VALLEY TOUR
JULY 16-23, 2017 (ITALY)
http://driveviper.com/images/front-page/Italy.jpg

We're going to Europe! Leveraging our fellow club member/sponsor from Go Get Lost, who have assembled several sell-out Italy trips with several VOA regions already, we now have setup an incredible 8-Day tour of Italy where we'll get to experience both the finest in Italian automobiles as well as the food, culture, and landscape of classic Italy. We'll spend our first 4 days in the "Motor Valley", the heart of Italian automobiles. Here we'll experience the Ferrari Museums, a Lamborghini Factory tour and museum, and we'll visit the Pagani factory and museum. You'll even have the option of taking a Ferrari out for some laps on an Italian circuit! After we get our fill of automobiles, we'll visit what is considered to be classic Italy as we travel into Tuscany. Along the way we'll eat incredible food, drink Italian wines, take cooking classes, and experience the history, and so much more as we explore this beautiful region of Italy. All this... while enjoying the camaraderie of our Viper friends. For more details, you can review the entire event here: http://www.gogetlost.com/voa-tuscany-motor-valley. The cost is $4195/pp (doesn't include airfare). Sign-ups need to happen soon, they begin on Dec 14. There is very limited availability as these groups are only 26 people large (yes, this will be a VOA only group). This Bucket List event requires a fair amount of advance commitment, so plans need to be made now. For more info you can contact Jason Allen from Go Get Lost via email jason@gogetlost.com or feel free to call 888-522-LOST (5678).

NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER ROLL
SEPTEMBER 16-18, 2017 (NEW ENGLAND AREA)
http://driveviper.com/images/front-page/Lobster.jpg

New England... here we come!! Join us as the New England VOA Club will host a Bucket List Event in their neck of the woods! The Welcome Party will kick off in Massachusetts with a "Lobster Roll Picnic", where no one will leave hungry! The next morning we will mount up and cruise north to the White Mountains region of New Hampshire (you will be in awe). Additional event plans include a multiday event packed with spectacular cruise along the winding Kangamangus highway; we'll travel through scenic back roads and main streets of quintessential New England towns; drive to the top of Mount Washington and experience the breathtaking views; zip line through the mountains; and enjoy tax free outlet shopping. We'll end the event with a group dinner sampling New England fare, where you can "pahk yuh cahr", sit a spell and enjoy the evening with your Viper family. So, watch for future updates and plan to experience all that New England has to offer!! Detailed information is coming, but if you'd like more information now, contact Kerrie Myers at kmyers@andoverhomes.com.

TEXAS VIPER ROUNDUP
OCT 19-22, 2017 (TEXAS)
http://driveviper.com/images/front-page/TVR.jpg

The Texas Viper Round Up has been going on annually for about 15 years and brings Vipers from far and wide! It's a driving event that gathers members together for a few days of exploring amazing places, twisty driving, and plenty of camaraderie! First we'll explore Viper limits (do they have any???) on the Continental Tire proving grounds. Then we'll test those limits the next day driving the Twisted Sisters in Texas hill country! The Texas Regions are also known for their legendary evening "business meetings", occasionally lasting into the wee hours of the morning! It's a great event to stretch the legs of the car and congregate in large groups of Vipers that like to see action! More details and registration will be following shortly. For questions you have now, feel free to contact the three presidents of Texas in charge of this massive gathering (Beth, Kurt, and Wayne): beth.sewell@driveviper.com, krobinson@robinsongc.com, wayne.rauh@yahoo.com.

VIPER 25th ANNIVERSARY / END OF PRODUCTION
TBD SUMMER 2017 (DETROIT)
http://driveviper.com/images/front-page/Viper 25th.jpg

As you are all aware, Viper is coming to an end in 2017. It also happens to be the 25th anniversary of our car! A very special event is being hosted near Detroit which will celebrate the Viper and visit some key venues as we say goodbye to this iconic car and look back on the last 25 years. The event will include a receptions, meet/greets with VIPs, performance driving (yep, we'll be hitting the track), tours of special locations, and all will be dovetailed (likely) to the Woodward Dream cruise as the finale. Dodge will be playing a large role in this themselves. Information regarding registration and more event details will be coming in the following months. This will be a landmark event (and one worth bringing your Viper), we'll be coming out in force! Stay tuned!

Thank you to all the regions and the volunteers who make such large events possible on a national level. We've had great success with Bucket List events due to the active membership we have. 2017 should be no exception!! Warms us up for NVE in 2018!

Have fun out there!

You really rack up those bonus miles don't you?

We've been meeting with FCA. It's awaiting approval and still going though discussion given the WPC closing. My guess is that we won't have a firm date for at least a month or more.

Will keep you posted!

The events listed here, are special multi-regional events called Bucket List. we have 5 events for 2017.

However, each region has regional events (many of them). There is an event calendar at the top of the screen on our website. This is a single calendar that provides visibility of regional events, we have them broken out by area. Regions are still adding in their events as it's still early in the year, so it'll populate over time (especially in the Midwest as they aren't as active until the spring due to weather.

Not sure where in the Midwest you're thinking, but if you have a focus - it's best to visit the individual club sites. Here is a good place that lists all the regions (and has links to each individual website). The Midwest is extremely active, so I'm sure you'll fid something. http://driveviper.com/club/regions.php

By the way, to join club events, you need to be a member. So if you intend on meeting up, please join. If your title is simply wrong on your avatar, let us know so we can fix.

Have fun and take care!

This Nebraska event can align with the hot rod power tour as well if anyone was planning on taking their viper on any part of that. Starts in KC and runs though Iowa/ Illinois. (I classify my 10acr as an American hot rod more than a super car LOL)

Unfortunately not. It's waiting on FCA.

As much as I'd like advance notice, and we do that with our events, we're waiting on them to complete their internal discussions, agreement, and approval of the budget. So we've simply been waiting. I'm impressed on them the need for advance notice so people can plan their trips across the US and beyond. I know they're working on it, but frankly, big priority isn't on this due to other things (and while that's understandable, it's still aggravating...).

We'll keep you posted, I'm certain it will happen (and likely tied to Woodward weekend based on last discussions). But beyond that - how many days, a schedule, the plan, etc... still have to be approved. If it happens in the form we pitched with them, it'll be very nice.

It's always kind of been like that with them - they're not too big on planning things far in advance. A lot is reactive with them (again, due to other priorities, they do the things they must, at the time that it must). We always struggle a little "getting the word out" after they pull the trigger as we have little time to then do our pieces. But there's a fine line as we also don't want to nag, I've been on them. At this point it just has to run it's course and we wait.

Will keep you posted!

Although they're undoubtedly fast, speed isn't everything. Compared to similarly priced sports cars, the Viper (especially the current one) was small inside and unwieldy for most drivers. For these reasons, despite some love from the public, it makes sense for Dodge to kill it off.

Nothing from them yet - at all. Speaking with the people who actually do the operational work, it's not even been handed to them yet. It's still making its rounds in their leadership group. I sense we're not going to have a good heads up on what the plans are and the final date for it. And folks coming far away, that's a horrific pain (even for those who live closer, it stinks).

Wish I had better news. Drives me nuts too. We pride ourselves on getting info on events out well in advance. But for this event, we're along for the ride, dependent on then to finalize their plans.

The second I hear even any ne information, I'll share. It's been 4 months of absolute silence from them - even with pestering.

Just a reality of life nowadays, their focus is on the products they plan on forwarding. Though I'm disappointed that it's not getting more formal attention. We also had other components we wanted to build into the event that were additional VOA items - but we'll be left with little time to do that now.

And don't ask about the hotels... for those who haven't been there for Woodward in the past... Waiting to tell people 2 months before the event is going to leave a lot of problems on hotel space. It's wildly busy out there at that time and they don't have the hotel capacity of large tourist cities.

What I can say is that it's definitely happening, there were some who thought this delay meant it wasn't going to happen. It will, I know the intent is there, the plan is where we're suffering. Frankly, with FCA (and even well before that) things were indeed often done last minute (the regional presidents are likely nodding). It's just for an event of this magnitude and importance to us, was hoping they'd be more proactive.

We (Carolinas Region) gave up on this event, as our region has their annual trip to Myrtle Beach, SC in the same month. With no date given from FCA, and with limited hotel space and most of all no production (I'm assuming as all Vipers were supposed to be completed by mid-August) going on at the time of the event...what is there to do.....

The Bucket List events are not scheduled in the same year as NVEs are but instead will be the year after (i.e. 2019). This gives members a chance to go to some super regional events in the non-NVE years.
