I have a 2017 1 of 1 ACR Extreme on order, and am re-doing my home office currently and had the bright idea of possibly getting a 5th generation Viper seat as an office chair. Not sure if this is something that anyone has done before, or if it is possible, but figured I'd put it out there to you guys in case anyone knew if this was possible or if there is anyone out there who actually builds and sells these and what the price might be?

Just google "racing seat office chair" and you will see lots of generic options. Perhaps you could modify it to fit the Gen V seat. One thing about a car seat is there are no armrests which you would probably find obnoxious in an office setting. That's why I thought modifying a an existing one might be best.
Otherwise I know a really talented fabricator and car guy who could probably do it for you custom. I don't know what he might charge for it but it would be cool to have one that matches your car and is the only one.

A real seat will be a few thousand bucks since parts are so limited on the GenV. Would need a custom base and arm rests.

you cannot buy an assembled viper seat, you can only buy it in parts with lots of missing bolts and then try assembling it for $$$ more

Sourcing parts and building a seat would be ridiculous. There are a couple used ones on ebay right now.

Chairs look cool but uncomfortable. Plus they are leatherette (will look like shit after a while) and they are not actual Viper seats. They are actually Pitstop GT office chairs made by RacingFurniture (http://www.racingfurniture.com/). Amazon also sells them for around half of what ViperParts charges (probably because they are missing the Viper logo on the back and on the brake caliper).
I was going to do the same thing for my garage, but changed my mind. You posture in front of the computer is totally different from the posture while driving. I had a Recaro EX office chair and it looked great, but was very uncomfortable after a few hours (and I was younger back then).
If you dont plan to spend a lot of time in that chair and still want an actual ACR seat, your best bet is to find a wrecked parts car (incidentally, there is one being sold on ebay now), get a seat out of it and use something like this: http://www.racechairs.com/Replacement_Base_p/rec014.htm
I switched to Aerons 10 years ago and never looked back.

Aftermarket Recaros will not fit in a GenV, simply measure the width of the factory seat base and compare

Id love to have a Viper chair made from my SRT10 Ram seats. They amazingly comfortable.

You mean like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-RAM-SRT10-Quad-Cab-Seats-USED-05282-/201642191318
Someone with some fabricating skills and spare time should buy this and make 2 office chairs out of it. I'll buy one.

There are also actual Viper seats on there as well....$475 a piece. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Viper-OEM-Seats-Racing-Hot-Rod-Project-05165-USED-/181977661701?hash=item2a5eb6c105:g:byYAAOSwX~dWhYx S&vxp=mtr
The trick is finding a heavy duty base with casters, armrests, height and tilt adjustment, etc. and a bracket that will mount to both the seat and the base without play, creaking, rattling, etc.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but it's relevant to the topic. I don't have a Gen V viper seat office chair, but I do have a Gen II version that was made in conjunction with Johnson Controls with the COA.

Gen 2 seats may not be as sporty as new seats but they sure are cozy. I bet that would be a super comfortable office chair!
