Doug from Ohio ordered his ACR-E in all white. Upon arrival from the factory directly to Calvo Motorsports Doug and I discussed how to make this ACR pop a little more than the others. Like my self, he was worried about paint being perfect so we had Dust to Glory do a full paint correction and polish on the car. You would be shocked on how different a brand new car looked before and after. We talked about clear bra, wrapping and or dipping the car but what we came up with IMO turned out the best. Matte clear bra to set off the brass monkey wheels and TT System! Enjoy the pics and the build! We will be updating it daily.

Picking it up from Bespoke (best clear bra in Austin) Walking into the their shop and seeing the ACR there was just stunning. The ride home was even better with half of the people pulling their phones out to take pics!

We wanted to put some miles on it before tearing into it with all the bearing issues so we took it on a nice cruise to cars and coffee along with the shop GT! All I can say is that that viper out of all the exotics of an Austin C&C got the most attention and compliments!

http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l355/Antonio_Calvo/snow-white%20tt%20acr/14715447_1187780764636367_7115610974604420963_o_zp sgrbyzws6.jpg (http://s328.photobucket.com/user/Antonio_Calvo/media/snow-white%20tt%20acr/14715447_1187780764636367_7115610974604420963_o_zp sgrbyzws6.jpg.html)

Fast forward to yesterday the tear down begins! Doug decided he likes his bearings and wants to do a lot of high speed half mile racing so Dry sump with our bolt on turbo kit was the best option for his needs. 1100Whp on pump 1300 on race gas stock engine with a 2 year 20k mile warranty was just what Doug needed until he felt more comfortable to step up to the CM1600R package! Out comes the engine with 120 miles on it!

They are 58k turn around is roughly 2-3 weeks once car is delivered here. 1100 pump gas 1300 race on the stock engine. Warranty covers parts we installed and work that was performed to the car. Obviously with the amount of bearing issues these cars have we do not warranty the stock engines.

Thanks for the clarification on the motor itself. Seems with motor out and the bearing issues that seem common how much more to build the motor to not worry about this issue and make the same power as the bolt on kit?

Antonio, you mentioned before working in the viper that the blocks were dirty, came up in a discussion about building the bottom end up. Wondering if now that you're working on 16s and maybe 17s, have you noticed any difference with the blocks/engines? Or are they just as 'dirty'?

Thx and amazing stuff as always.

So are you saying the stock bearing are showing wear at 100 miles? If so, do you think they are sub-standard? If so, shouldn't that be SOP on all the cars that come into the shop?

You guys need to relax with the sub-standard inquiry lol. Bearings are just metal. Debris will kill any bearing whether its on your viper or a Caterpillar haul truck, and we already know debris is an issue. Another set of adamantium bearings is not going to stop debris damage.

Would love some bearing piks calvo! Thanks.

Thank you! As far as the bearings its been hit or miss. When we pulled my orange car apart that we turbo'd two years ago and had 3500 miles of nothing but racing on it they looked perfect. Steve Ransoms bearings looked better than this but not great at 3k miles we replaced them and just checked them the other day after 3kish miles of being turbo'd and they looked pretty good.

To be honest, its all over the place. The cranks aren't machined the best, they blocks castings are terrible and none of this has changed throughout the life of the gen v. It kind of sucks.

OK, now you're being too honest. Argh.

So, when you take a project car, be it a TT or just a tweak job, like headers/tune and whatever, can you drop the pan and get a good idea if you'd recommend some bottom end cleaning/improvement? And if you do this, is it a longevity solution, or is it that even if you put new bearings in, the new ones could get damaged a few thousand miles later?
