Clutch pedal problem 2003 gen 3, the clutch is working fine what I'm having a problem is that the pedal won't stay in place after pressing it down it will come up just fine but it won't lock in place so the pedal moves up freely upward. Anyone have these problem?

I'm not sure I understand. So you depress the clutch, shift, and release the clutch and that's all fine? So what is it doing after that? There is always that little bit of movement in that first quarter inch or so to help from wearing the clutch constantly.

I think the pedal keeps coming back towards the top after he shifts and lets go. Like up towards the dash. So it would it would make him lift his foot really high to press the clutch the next shift. Is that correct cubican?

Yes that's correct for example if I'm taking off in a hurry the pedal will move up so it doesn't stay in the normal place once the g force is gone it will go back to the stock place. Is like is not locking in place once you depressed the clutch.

i think most vipers have a little play at the top of the clutch. driven 4 gen3 vipers and all the same.
if its not that, check the plastic retaining clutch bushing. could be cracked. if not, then you could check the actuator itself. could be somthing is loose or leaking. and if its not that, then its the slave. start from the cheapest fix to the most expensive :)
i replaced my clutch, flywheel, slave, actuator and bushing. still has some play at the top. i can kinda wiggle it with the foot if itry lifting it.

The little wiggle is supposed to be on all manuals I thought. Otherwise it would be riding the cluth a little bit all the time. At least as I was told.
I don't think that smidge of play is his issue. I honestly dont know what is. I wish I could be of help.
