View Full Version : Carpet removal tip needed

Anyone that has removed the vertical carpeting in very rear of trunk...what's the trick? I believe it has two push pin type fasteners and is basically clipped in but it seems really stuck. There are also two trunk lights. I need to access the speakers behind the carpet. The weather-stripping comes right off but is all that's holding that carpet section two fasteners? Thanks.

Once you get the stripping pulled up the carpet pulls out. Isn't easy to get out but there isn't (at least in 2015) anything extra holding it in.

Getting rid of that carpet could be an extra hundredth of a second in the quarter mile....it's all about weight savings.

I added 8 lbs. but lost 10 personally so it's a wash. :)

Is the 3 speaker that bad? Love my 18 system.
