A couple of weeks ago I put in a catch can on the inlet air connection of the PCV system. The oem inlet connection goes from the drivers side valve cover into the airbox. In theory this connection should only supply fresh /filtered air for the PCV system, however, at WOT is is possible for oil to be forced into the airbox. Air that contains oil could possibly cause engine knock which would cause the PCM to pull timing.

The passenger side portion of the PCV system has the pcv valve, this is connected directly from the passenger side valve cover to a intake vacuum connection under the throttle bodies.. This definitely can send an oil mist into the intake and again, possibly cause the PCM to pull timing. The pictures below the the show the installation. It was fairly simple and you end up with crankcase ventilation without the possibility of oil entering the intake.

1. Jaz air-oil separator.

2. (2) 1/4"NPT to 5/8 barb fittings.

3. 5 ft of 5/8 hose and and four hose clamps.

4. You have to cut the oem tube where it goes below the throttle body.
