Wow this is awesome. I am NOT good at blipping the throttle during racing (I blame big feet) so this would definitely make me faster around the track.

maybe. if i understand it right it uses the clutch interlock signal as detector with brake. i think the clutch signal they are describing is the one that is used to make sure clutch is in before cranking. if so this is a problem cause the clutch has to be depressed fully for this. i dont know about others but no way i depress clutch this far when shifting. idk maybe this is not how it works, maybe there is another sensor it uses. anybody know?? i would definitely find out before getting one.

if i ever track mine and realize its difficult to heel toe, this would be amazing, mine is only street driven so i hold same gear and coast to stop then put in neutral when it gets to 1k

Yes, I thought you might be able to install a microswitch to an adjustable bracket and use that instead of the clutch switch for this reason, that is too far to push the clutch in just to get a throttle blip.
Anyone actually have this installed on their Viper?
kaamacat (Bob) has it installed, maybe the first?

Interesting. Not sure I'd bother on the viper, heel/toe is so easy on a viper. But my GT500, hmm, pedal placement and heavy, heavy clutch pedal with 800+hp, makes it a real focus moment. It'd be interesting also to see how long it'd take to break the heel/toe habit on track if you have an auto blip. I know I had a devil of a time getting myself to stop blipping when track bikes went to slipper clutches, I'm such an old dog, lol.

I have it on mine... actually wrote those instructions out on the site for the Gen5 cars. Just a few comments though.
1) The response you can dial-in with the unit is just-as-fast as anything out there on the market, and being adjustable
with delay and duration makes it nice for your driving style.
2) The unit works on the premise that you have hit your brakes... then the clutch, under the assumption you will be
downshifting.
3) The clutch interlock is activated when your pedal bar is about 1/2" from the floor. That is what it takes for your car
to start, which also says "Hey lets auto-blip". IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE AT ALL with reaching that comfortably in a
natural seating position... I might not recommend this for you. If you in-fact have your let out fully and zero bend
in the knee, you have a good chance not to engage the unit and then no blip takes place.
4) I have had (2) times where it did throw a throttle position error, and put the car into a degrade safe mode. I did a
quick reset/clear with my iPhone and ODB CarDoctor, and the car reset fine. (Runs perfect). This took place in Mar
and Sept during a HPDE. But then I have had it on for full days and no issues at all. Not sure exactly what the
glitch was. (Ive sent an email to Andre' asking him for feedback)

Head out to their website.... there is a good one with a C5 Z06 guy (he is actually local to us in GA)... pretty good idea of exactly
how it works when you watch his shifts before the turns. The blip as he has it set is about as immediate as his throw of the shifter.
(as he drives it). Like said, you can adjust the delay for the blip to start and its duration (eg how many RPMs aprox).

Interesting. Sounds a bit like what Nissan did with the 370z stock but at the time it was thought to be just a gimmick by some in the auto industry. Would love to see if it has any nominal affect on lap times.

Put the blipper on my car and it works great at the track. I turn it off around town because it revs the car every time you you brake then push the clutch pedal, you look funny at traffic lights doing that haha.

The pre 2001 guys can say the same thing about our ABS, traction control, stability control. Technology never ends and makes cars faster.
I'd say one of the reasons the Viper died is it became "slow". Look at all the latest magazine comparisons. Even the base Porsche 911 runs 11.5 in the quarter mile now. LOL.
99% of Viper owners don't road race. The allure of the Viper was it was always the fastest car, now it's average in the sports car realm as for as acceleration goes. It loses in 0-60 and 1/4 mile to heavier cars with 200 less horsepower.

In that Motor Trend comparison in November, the Viper was mid pack as far as acceleration goes.
The 911S for example, has 420hp and was faster 0-60 and tied in quarter mile. Identical curb weights. 225 horsepower less. lol.
NSX much heavier, 145 horsepower less faster 0-60, faster 1/4 mile
Audi R8 much heavier, 45 less horsepower, much much much faster than the ACR
Jaguar SVR, much much heavier, 75 less horsepower, identical acceleration times
McLaren 570s, much much faster with 562hp.
Mercedes GT S, identical acceleration times with 500 more pounds and 145 less horsepower
Nissan GTR 500 lbs heavier, 80 less horsepower, faster acceleration times
These were all tested same day, same track so it's good data.
I live this first hand as I battle GTR's and GT3's at the track and the flat out smoke me on the straights. This is why my car is at Calvo now getting a sequential. Even the playing field a little bit.
A 3300 lb car with 645hp with a Porsche type tranny would be a second faster in the 1/4 mile at least. Low 10's.

I had it on my C6Z06 & loved it. I transferred it to my Viper. It works great and takes the thinking out of heel toe shifts.
I had the same error/limp mode on and off for a while. I too was able to clear it via the OBDII. It turns out the connections on the Throttle were not 100%. Once they were redone the issue disappeared for good!
I will say it's a REAL pain the the butt to install! The pedal connections are a bitch as it is, but then the engine bay clutch connections are no prize either! I ended up removing the side sill which made them WAY easier!

DCT + AWD could bring it down to the mid 9's.
It doesn't matter how much power you have if you cannot put if efficiently to the pavement.

Will do. I'm really hoping to have it back before a track event I have on Jan 14/15th.
It will be at a track I've ran the ACR on and also the sequential car before the sequential. So will be able to compare lap times apples to apples.

Was it just re-seating the two connections for the throttle or, do you think it was the "clip on" to the wire part? As I mentioned it did
happen twice to me up at Road Atlanta...came in and did a quick reset. (I also made some "risers" for the clutch pedal of about 1.25"
so my leg only had to travel about 80% out and not stretch for the Clutch to engage. I also added a 1/4" bumper on the floor for a
hard-feel stop..... made that out of good-ol-hockey-puck).
So still working flawless?

I'm also having some limp mode issues with mine, with the blipper turned off going full throttle will trigger the throttle position sensor code. Tried making the connections better but I still have the same results.

I had the limp mode once randomly but had error codes too, even with the unit turned off. But when the unit was on, it immediately went into limp mode. A reset only worked for a moment.
It wasn't until the throttle connections were soldered on that it went away for good.
It has performed flawlessly ever since that fix.

Depending on how old the unit is there may be a firmware update for it. I sent my back to AutoBlip and they did the update for free. Have another friend that had Prefix install his and he had problems. Turned out the connector to the throttle harness was loose. Re-did it and now it works fine.

I had issues as well, I I got rid of all the stupid wire taps and solder and sealed the connections and it's been golden since.
Also if you have any accessories that pulse or have pulse wave modulation you need to insulate the autoblip wires away from them. They will cause interference and autoblip will do weird things...
