2017 Viper Registry VIN List

For whatever reason, I found the need to create a registry/VIN list for 2017 model year cars.

At this point since so many 2016 deliveries have been completed and many cars have left the dealer lot, I am hoping there would be some other way to collect previous years. This list is only for 2017.

I scoured the internet for a few hours and tried to find as many VINs as I could. I want to be as comprehensive as I can but not overboard (I didn't include interior color or the color of your seat belts). Major options available are on the list including model, stripe type, stripe colour, packages, wheels, etc.

I came up with 89 VINs and there are others I know of and still need to add. I did not add any bogus non "HV5" vins to the list. I am only adding HV5 vins only unless I am mistaken and 2017 Vipers will have non HV5 VINs also. Take a look at the list and if your 2017 VIN is not on there, comment and I will add it to the list! Just some fun, lets see how many we can get on the list!

The SE's are coming with the base 12 speaker harmon Kardon sound system. My dealer got a message back from CAAP that the SE's are DL29 cars with all the ACR bits added.

I am confused about the colour as well. Viper Granny's SSG seems to be very light compared to the Limited Edition cars which are a darker and deeper green. The LE Green looks similar to other stryker colours with the added depth and pearl in the finish. When Gerry Wood added their cars to their website, the LE Snakeskin ACR's colour was noted as Stryker Green instead of SSG.

I don't mind the stryker green either... In the simulation studio, the color is different in every rendering. March sure seems a long ways away every time I think about the car.

I'll bet we get our cars at about the same time. Prefix wants to do all the Stryker colors at once from what I hear - so we'll probably be getting into the paint process with our Stryker Purple cars right around March if estimates are anywhere near correct.

Interesting that the Stryker Purple cars are getting approved this late in the game. I wonder if Prefix needs to have a certain number of them to optimize the painting operation. I can't imagine that they'd want to do one of these at a time - way too complex of a painting process. Anyone know how many of a certain color they do at once?

Please share with us an instance when someone armed with half a VIN, and a vehicle's spec, has used these as a weapon of mass destruction.

I am trying to compile a list of cars that are built in 2017. A completed list will be just for statistics ie,

How many venom black cars were built?
How many people got the CF interior?
How successful was Dodge's intro of the Brass monkey wheel?
.....and so on.

Just data dude, nobody in danger over here.

If you look at this thread - you will find complete VIN's for starters. And yes - vins have been picked up and then mysteriously show up on ebay or other sites with scammers trying to sell someone else's Viper.

And WOW - it would be amazing to know how many CF Interiors were built ...... :confused:

More than likely they reported the sale on the last day of August to qualify for the August sales objectives. Dealers are allowed to report a vehicle sold once it is in "KZ" status - shipped and invoiced to the dealer.

The original owner of the 2010 I bought from John traded it for a 2017 he had ordered from Roanoke, funny thing is that car is one serial # after yours, 52.

I had a 2014 bought new, found aluminum chips in the oil filter & oil, ordered and traded for a 2016, after which I heard 2 engines failed on 2016s, ran all the 2016 Vin numbers and found 5 more engines replaced on warranty, which isn't a lot, but 7 two many for me. Just happened to look at Roanoke web site and saw the one owner 2010 with 904 miles, the rest is history. I did look inside the oil filter of the 2016, and had no signs of any debris. I do think FCA has fixed the engine issues.

Sorry to hear that. I truly do believe this car are hit or miss. I have a 2014 GTS that doesn't lose a drop of oil. I was thinking about trading it in on the ACR, just couldn't get myself to do it and after talking to John I knew the ACR was going to be more of a track car. Even though my GTS has ACR suspension, brakes, ACR wheels and tires now, I just love driving the car and I don't think I can find anything else to replace it with. I hope FCA fix the engine issues. I believe there is more than one problem with these engines. I'm just very glad that John Gastman at Roanoke and Bill from Flossmoor Family is not too far from me.
