The date codes on my front corsas are 2213, and rears are 4412, this december will be 4 years, tread is fine but approaching 4 years, would anyone look to replace during this approaching offseason or worry about it after 5 or 6 years like what is recommended by tire rack. Always garaged, 2013, 5100 miles odo

Tires are viable thru about 6 years, after that it gets questionable.

Good excuse to do some drifting practice and wear them down. No use replacing tires of that age if they have good tread on them. Burn 'em up and have fun with them to get your money's worth :)

It really depends on what kind of driving you do. If you intend to drive your car hard on track or even the street, I would probably replace. If not, then you should be good for 2 more years.

I ordered a set of new tires with 2012 date code and took them to miller motorsports park. They were great , I wouldn't worry a bit. Turned great lap times with them. Better than the original ones. Just be careful in the cold weather. If money isn't an issue, just replace them. The brand new 2016 with have better traction than the 2012.
