I know at one point there was a similar post but I installed a Ross Murray 4 Point this evening in my ACR and figured I would share the process with everyone. Total install time was about 3 hours. The product that Ross sales is flawless and looks very strong. I would say the most difficult part of the install was probably getting the seats in and out without doing damage to them or the interior. One small word of advise, if you end up doing one yourself, the cage has pre drilled holes that I would recommend opening up a little right up front because in the end you will most likely need to anyways. Thanks to Ross, great product and great to deal with. I have attached a few pictures of the completed install both with and without the seats in.

Very clean. For anyone on the fence about the robustness of the factory bar, above the roof liner, this seems to be the one to get. I've also read about opening the holes a little up front.

Glad it worked out for you! No doubt I feel much safer at the track with mine, as I also use a six point harness and Necksgen. You need a roll bar with a six point harness to protect your melon

There is very lttle cutting required. There is pannel that covers the bulkhead that requires you to notch it then replace a portion back once the bar is in. If you look closely at the 2nd and 3rd pic, i tried to get a close up of that area on both sides. I cut it out with a fine blade hacksaw trimmed it for the bar then ran heavy duty tape on the backside to attach the small remaining piece.

I personally wanted a little more support so this was a perfect option. Had I opened the holes up front it probably would have cut about 30 min from the install.

Luke, here's a detailed write up. It's a nice solid clean looking piece!

I paid $1200 plus shipping for a powdercoated cage. I believe that its $50 less without powdercoat.

If only carbon fiber roofs were enough to save your head

There is a factory support bar in the roof already. The question is whether it's strong enough for a roll over or not. I personally have no idea.....

That's just the roof skin. Theres a support bar installed before that skin goes on. It's existence isn't in question, just it's strength.

I had one of Ross' rollbars in my 09 ACR. Very nice piece. Can't remember how it was attached though as I didn't do the install. Does it bolt directly to a frame member?

It botls in at the bulkhead where your shoulder harneses bolt in. The rear down bars bolt in at the crossmember where your coilvers are.

i put ross roll bar in my ta 2. when i talked to him he said that the factory hoop is fairly large but very thin. he thought it was primarily for rigid support for hatch maybe ok for low speed roll over. if ur putting it into a car with carpet u need slightly longer bolts than for acr with no carpet. i have 6 points, hans and mostly track my car. i wanted to make sure if i rolled my head wasnt the roll bar lol.

Does it look to you guys there may be a chance of head contact with it on the street without a helmet? Can't really tell from the pictures.

No not at all. It is well behind your head, i can shoot a picture later this afternoon. That was of the main things i liked about this particular cage, it was street and track friendly.

Here you go guys, I took a closer picture from the side showing the amount of head clearance there is. I have my seat all the way back

I'll confirm what BTR showed in the pic. No way my head will hit that bar. That was my first concern before buying one. It is designed right.
