LOL @ 1

What's the torque spec on the X brace?

Looks very good. I'll eventually do this at the same time as a CF spoiler lip.

Both mods look good, especially the red brace.

Nicely done Jack, much improved from rear view...still awaiting an answer on getting you the same white Stryker decal, that I have in center of my red X brace. Haven't forgotten...sometimes its like pulling teeth from a chicken ;-)

I just ordered the emblem from the front of the TA

For the brace, I am going to use black oxided bolts. They are not easy to find. The Gen2's had metric heads and SAE threads. All the bolts I have encountered so far are full metric. I thought the brace bolts were a M6 X 1.25, however, a google shows zero. I m going to have to measure them again. For a heads up, even the sheet metal screws are metric, that is important since they also use them into the plastic.

Good idea. In person, that emblem has a clear protective layer across it, so that the corners/edges of all the design in the middle won't get caught or lifted.

Very nice Jack. I would bet more than a few guys are going to follow your lead and perform the same mods to their cars.

That looks great! Are you going to black out the tail lights too?

Here are some more details:

1. The XBrace bolts are M8 X 1.25 and either 20 or 25 mm long. I ordered some black oxide bolts, they will contrast the red XBrace.

2. The trunk took 18 sq ft of sound deadening, with a total weight of 10 lbs. There is a picture below of the lid/plate that covers the battery, there was no sound deadening material at all in tat area. I put one sheet on the bottom side of the lid. The self adhesive did not work very well on this material, I ended up priming it with 3M #94 primer and putting a bead of silicone on the outside edge.

3. I added a Stryker emblem in the trunk - picture below.

Great job !

A few questions.

Where is a good place to order the bolts ? Did they turn out to be 20 or 25 mm ? Was anyone able to find a nice Stryker emblem for the cross brace ?

Did the sound deadening make a noticeable difference?

Jack..once you pull out the bumper clips from the applique, how do you get it to release? Are there other bolts screws?

13ft/lbs. is all the X-brace bolts get, car has to be sitting on the ground when you install it.

There are studs on the surround. The fasteners are on the insde.

Which sounds like no lol... I was going to go with something like Second Skin Audio, then maybe something more heat centric for the driver's foot well. Then a foil adhesive for the inside of the side skirts to prevent paint yellowing.

The problem is, I changed to Belanger headers and a single cat at the same time. Therefore, the entire sound platform changed. I can say this, I get no road noise from the rear.
