The deadline for us to release the remaining rooms back to the hotel is just three days away, Wednesday, September 7th. So far, we have 12 couples who notified us that they are attending the Charleston event. Dave Willard has been working really hard putting this event together, coordinating with the hotel, restaurants, local police department for overnight security (off-duty police officers) for the Vipers, and the possibility of obtaining transportation for Friday and Saturday nights dinners - from the hotel to the restaurants and back to the hotel.

At this time, Saturday is open for individual or group excursions prior to dinner. This event is too short to schedule car shows and cruises which would take up every moment of your time. Suggested places to visit/tour are the Charleston Historic District; Fort Sumter; Patriots Point Museum; the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park & Pier and the Ravenel Bridge are only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel; and the Charleston Water Taxi, which sails from Patriots Point across the harbor to downtown Charleston hourly for only a $10 day pass, is a great way to see all the sights in the harbor. The beaches at Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms are great.

Tentative Schedule of Events:

Friday: Check-in with Hotel
Friday: Dinner @ 6:30 PM at RB’s Seaford Restaurant located at Shem Creek, departing the hotel @ 6:15 (Friday dinner location subject to change) Link to Menu: http://rbsonshemcreek.com/dinner-menu/
Saturday: morning & afternoon - free time
Saturday: Dinner at the Charleston Fish House at Patriots Point @ 6:30 PM, departing the hotel @ 6:15

For those who are not staying at the hotel, but still attending the event, please let us know so we can make seating arrangements at the restaurants. Also, if you have not provided me with your cell phone number, please do so if you want to be contacted regarding any last minute changes.

As a reminder, for those who want to stay an extra day or two at the hotel (as Monday is a Federal Holiday), please don't forget to advise the reservation desk/clerk of your decision to receive the same rate.

This will be the next to last event for the Region's 2016 calendar. The last one is the End-of-Year Party, which is going to be held in Greensboro, NC on November 19th.

Hope to see many of you during the Charleston and Greensboro events.
