You probably aren't worthy of this event.

I just pre-drove my cruise route around central Pennsylvania.

It is epic.

You have no idea.

I've found all the best roads in the world, right here in PA. Miles of roads, freshly repaved, seemingly just for me. So fresh there's no painted line markings yet. Dropoffs so steep you understand the redundancy of having a sign that reads "no guiderail" on a curve with, well, no guiderail.

If you come on this cruise, you will:

Melt your tires,

Roast your brakes,

Burn through at least one full tank of fuel,

Make your passenger sick, and

Be tired of driving.

You don't think you can get enough of your car, do you?

You will.

You will want to stop early. You will want to quit. You will be hot and sore and exhausted. You'll have to pee and you'll want a nap. You won't want to drive the whole route I have planned. You will bail before we stop at the car show at the local Burger King at Maynard Street in Williamsport.

This is 205 miles of awesomeness. It begins and ends in Williamsport, PA. It takes over four hours to drive if you don't make any stops. Plan on six hours to complete. The cruise starts at ten o'clock am.

Which is why there's a block of hotel rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn Express in Williamsport under "Viper Club". Depending on where you are coming from, you may not want to get up early enough to drive here and then punish yourself with six more hours behind the wheel. And that's why you may also want to stay Saturday night too. You can rest your weary head after pumping all your energy into those ten cylinders you leave in the secure parking garage that's next to the hotel, while you fill your face with pizza and drinks, complements of the PA/WV Viper Club.

This isn't a cruise. this is a Drive. Contact me to register.

Now, the fine print.

We'll keep near the speed limit for this Drive. If you've been on central PA backroads, sometimes you're astonished with how high the speed limit is set. 35 or 45 mph in much less than a Viper would send you off the edge.

We'll keep in touch with walkie talkies, in case you want to stop. I have fuel and break stops planned out, as well as a couple places for lunch. That's schedule and attendance dependent.

This Drive is not meant for 50 cars. It's too impractical. One stop sign or traffic light and it's a mess. I would like to keep this Drive to TEN cars. Fifteen max. Any more than that and it becomes a parade, which is not the point.

I suggest you bring a passenger. Not only to help with communications, but so at least one of you has a moment to look at all there is to see here. Pennsylvania is a very pretty place, and if you're driving, you don't have a lot of time to look around.

This route is not going to be announced or publicised. You will find out where we are going when we have our kickoff meeting at the hotel before the Drive. You have no obligation to use the hotel chosen, or any hotel at all. I'm trying to start late enough in the day where a hotel stay is not required. I understand a multi-day event is a big commitment. You are welcome to come and go as you see fit.

I will be leading this Drive. Even though you are likely a better driver than I am, do not pass me. I want everyone and their cars going home in one piece. I will set a pace that I feel is appropriate to the road and conditions. This Drive will be held rain or shine, unless the weather is super-awful. The purpose is to have fun, see some beautiful scenery, interact with fellow club members, and get some great photos.

Update: I've got six confirmed cars so far.

There are problems with the Holiday Inn Express, in that they claim they never heard of us. Their nightly rate was kind of high, so I'm looking at a couple different places that use the same parking garage.

Ten cars registered, so I'm afraid registration is closed.

Prepare yourselves for photos and Spherical, VR video.
