View Full Version : Light thunk in front suspension.

My car has 9200 miles on it and has within the last 200 miles developed a light thunk noise in the right front suspension. The sound only happens when you make an extreme turn at very low speed "ie" parking or a 90 degree turn out of my garage. It seems to occur while turning right more often than turning left. I have removed the right front tire and inspected the components, but I'm unable to see anything amiss.
Any ideas.
Thanks, Ed

Make sure that front ball joint has plenty of grease.

If its only when backing up; sometimes tires chatter/chunk as they get drug back vs rolling

could be a brake pad thunk, put light pressure on brake to see if it changes

No not only backing. I can be rolling forward at an intersection, for example, apply slight brake pressure and have it occur. It can also happen when rolling and turning without any brake application.

If you have an arrow PCM, it is certainly the problem.
....sorry couldn't resist

Not possible. Engine would be toast if you drove 9300 miles with THE PCM.
