I have an 03 vert that im trading in on an 08 SSG Coupe to you think the benefit is there in doing the trade in for the new one? I do like the hard top but this whole thing will cost me about 60K
What do you guys think if you traded your GEN III ARE YOU GLAD YOU DID?

60K+our car for a new car?! Do you feel the new car has 60k in upgrades and personality over your?
I personally would never do such a thing as I respect my money too much and , don't feel the new car is worthy of that amount and...and...my Viper on top..Geez that is a hard pill to swallow.
If you were trading in for say a 4 year old Lambo, then it might justify as the Lambo has pretty well bottomed out and will get you a whole different aspect of car/experience.
Going from one Viper to another for 60K is , IMHO, way too much.
Opinions will differ from everyone here as we are all under different financial circumstances and tastes, but,, money is money.
Now, going from your car to a SSG 08 for a small amount of grunt, well that may be a little more justified as you are getting a lot more car for a lot less money. Keep what you got or go for the 08...in my opinion of course.

Ahh ok..so you still have to deal with the 19K..well..still a good deal as they are giving you good money for your Gen 3.

Is that 08 brand new? That seems pretty high price for a 2008.

They are giving you good money for your 03, and if the SSG is what you really want it's not that bad of a deal, both are being reasonable priced!, i went to a dealership the other day and they offered me 29 K on my '06, to trade on a 2014.

29K??!! I would have brought in a 08 challenger and told him here is the trade in you requested for 29K...lol...tell him to find you one for 40K and youll buy it from him him...too funny.

Need more details on the car you are looking at. New? How many miles on it etc? They are giving you good money for yours but may just be over inflating what they will give you for yours by increasing the price of their car. The only true way to know exactly what they are giving you for your car is to make a cash deal on the new one first and then tell them about the trade. This will give you true numbers. All you care about is the difference but at least you will know where they are at.

The hard part for me wouldn't be the dough but going from a vert to a hard top; I'm actually considering the opposite move.

That's what I kind of said...theres a Viper member here in our region who may be selling his 08 SSG coupe with only 12000 or so miles on it and absolutely mint condition. this guy is a fanatic. I think he said he may want to sell his for around 70K Canadian..that would be considerably less in US dollars. Something the OP might want to look into. It would save thousands even with the shipping.

The car has 300 or so miles. The new Camaro Z28 will be $75K. Which would you prefer?

I didn't see where OP said 300 miles. Is it still new with warranty? Not sure how I feel about a car that has sat around for 6 years unless it is being bought to sit around some more.
FWIW I bought my new 08 for $76k over 4 years ago.

If you want SSG and a wing and were looking to spend 76k I would be trying to make a move on this car. It stickered for near 110k, has belanger headers, exhaust, clear bra and would assume PCM. Who cares if it has 10k miles, drive and enjoy one of the most badass cars to ever hit the streets. It already has $5k in extras on the car.
Would be cheaper than buying that other one for $76k and adding the $10,000 in ACR aero equip, plus you get the wheels, brakes and coilovers. The only thing I would change would be the tires.

Bernie should offer you good value on your trade, and you know the car is in great shape if he is selling it.

And we know the history of that ACR very well at Bernies right now. That has been a Houston car owned by our local club pres since new.
