I saw the Prototype Targa Prefix did again at the Woodward Dream Cruise...and spoke again with one of their guys...I still think it is a good idea...just trying figure out why they do not sell. Price? looks? Non reversible nature of the build. No doubt Prefix has pretty high overhead costs to cover in the industry that they are in. I still am open to doing something like this as well....or something between the full convertible Medusa and a Targa. If a Targa package was priced in the 8-9k range...would it be more acceptable?...Sorry Paul...didn't intend to redirect the thread...I have been thinking about these cars since I saw one on Saturday.

I know I would be interested in it. I emailed them a few weeks back asking about it and was told a part shortage is why they stopped. But I imagine high costs just don't make sense for them to continue to do it. I know it started at 9999 but went up depending on options you selected. I think it looks nice and works well but haven't seen one in person yet.

Prpaster, I suspect that the biggest problem will be documentation of your opinion of the above mentioned agreed-upon-valve. The obvious place to start is with the bill of sale. The problem lies in the fact that the car's value will ultimately be determined by the secondary market. I'll bet it is still too early in the Targa's history for adequate numbers of secondary sales to assist with your valuation. An appraisal from an experienced, credentialed collector car appraiser should help. Mainstream insurers may take a little convincing.

to my knowledge prefix is not advertising them but they are still doing them . mine was completed about a month or 2 ago. it isnt 9999 anymore tho they start at 16.5k now
Yea i think an appraisal will be the best way then agreed value or main stream i guess

They are not doing them anymore, I have an email direct from the targa team at prefix. And damn that is a little bit of a difference in price!

I would assume that most buyers had no idea that they existed. In my opinion, Tomball or Woodhouse should have commissioned one and allowed the magazines and select YouTube personalities, like Matt Farah, to test it. If nothing else, it gets it in front of the public and gains press for both the dealership and Prefix.

Yea and that isnt with any options time you add all the Carbon fiber and alcatara suede stuff your over 20k . was it worth it ? absolutely i love it so far but would have rather started at 10k ha

Scratch that idea. I wanted a targa, but 10k was pretty much the limit.
