I don't think that a car that is used in racing competition should be grouped in with the failed engine count. (Not that you did.)
Here is a quote from the owner/driver:
"I think an over rev of the engine in the Queenstown stage may be to blame, we're gutted," White said.

That's a shame. I watched a video of the driver recently and he had a lot of good things to say about the Viper.

They aren't made to be over revved either.

BTW, I had assumed the driver meant that he might have caused an over-rev when downshifting the engine under racing conditions.
