View Full Version : LED Reverse Lights
I wanted to put LED reverse bulbs in as the reverse lights seemed to be the only lights in/on the car that are not LED.
The owners manual does not give the light bulb type, so after a little trial and error I found the perfect LED bulb to replace the ugly halogen bulb. It works perfect and looks great. The light actually faces backwards so it reflects off the reflector unlike some other LED bulbs that just point out.
I installed these on fellow member's car as well and he is very happy with them. Install only takes a few minutes.
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet, but I can/will soon.
You can purchase the bulbs here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P2D41OQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
*Just a tip with the install. If one or both bulbs don't light up at first, remove the bulb and turn it 180 degrees and put it back in. The bulb does have a specific way to connect in order for it to light up.
According to the owner's manual, the only light bulbs not LED from the factory are the side marker bulbs?
The owners manual does say LED and to go to the dealer for service on those but the manual is 100% wrong. The reverse bulbs are definitely not LED. You can check yourself. They are real easy to get to and remove.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone tinted or covered the side markers at all?
I hate them. On my Carbon Edition Z06 I bought black (smoked) lens covers for the side markers and they looked very good on the Supersonic blue!
I think I'll order those LED's as well. Thanks for the tip!

Hey Ron,
At one point Klearz made clear and smoked replacement lenses. Unfortunately, they currently say they are out of production. I put in my email to be notified as to when they will come available. That was a few weeks ago.

I had mine painted by my bodyshop at work.
This is the only pic of them I have on the car at the moment. I just walked out at work and snapped that really quick to help visualize.
While they look pretty dark they still do shine the light through at night when turned on.

Sorry for going off topic OP, but save your money on the klearz. If you search them, or my username, I did a pretty thorough review on them. Long story short, have your factory side markers tinted or painted to color match.
You could always cover the side markers with smoked film:

That is what I did. Worked out really good. Still shows lots of red through them when the lights are on.
