As an AZ member, the top of my 2001 RT doesn't spend much time on my car. I've seen two separate instances of folks who have stored their hardtops by "mounting" them to the wall of their garage. Of course, now that i'm trying to implement this project myself, i can't find those pics. I have an idea of how it might be done using the rear snap locks, but i want to hear from some one who as actually done this how they did it. Maybe even a photo or two. i definitely don't want to damage my top. Can anybody help?

Mine is mounted on the wall. Plywood front and back. 1" X 10" pine for the sides. Back piece is cut out of a 4X8 sheet. If you need exact dimensions, I can get those tomorrow. The front doors are on simple hinges:

When not in use I just leave mine hanging from the ceiling on the lift.

That cabinet looks great and the electric lift is a sweet piece of home engineering, but i have neither the time nor money to fabricate such projects. How is the is the top held inside the cabinet? it's not just resting on the floor of it.....is it?

I used three 12" L-shaped wall brackets (well padded) and bolted them to studs in the wall and simply set the back edge of the top on the brackets and lean it against the wall. My wife made a cover for the top too, so ti keeps it clean and protects it from scratches. It has been a simple, quick, effective, and inexpensive solution.

My wife has a good sense of humor too and used two different fabrics to make the cover: A Scooby-Doo print and a Disney pricess print. But hey, it works well and keeps it clean.

I use 3 padded hangers (they protrude 16" from the wall), 2 on the bottom, 1 on the top. I spaced them so I have to slide the top in from the side...that way it can't fall over and fall out...it will contact the top hanger. I keep the soft top and bag on the bottom behind the hard top. I added extra padding to the bottom hangers...
