Explain to me how the Gen V ABS feels to you.

At the two track days I've done since getting the car the ABS feels so odd I think I might be incorrect in what I am feeling.

When I trip ABS it sort of feels like my wheels are sliding over a small pebbles covering the road.

From 150+ mph straights, the ABS seems to make the rear waggle a bit, side to side. The ABS doesn't seem as intrusive as other cars I've owned.

nothing out of the ordinary as far as ABS feel

Mine feels like it cuts the braking power by say... 20%.

In other cars, I am use to the rapid pulsing on/off feel(this is the way my 2009 Viper worked).

I love the way mine feels, very unobtrusive. When you say "odd", what car are you comparing it to?

They way it just cuts the braking pressure and when it does that the brake pedal is pushing back against your foot.

The two most recent cars that I've tracked that did not feel this way are a 2009 Viper and a 2016 Scion FRS.

I have experienced the same feeling as 9Ball with the rear wagging a bit under high speed braking. I attributed it in part to heavy weight transfer to the front end under hard braking and am going to increase front suspension compression to slow the weight transfer and see if that helps. Any other suggestions?

Just to be safe you may want to bleed the brakes to make sure you don't have any air bubble in the system. Make sure you use high temp fluid. Then check it again.

I have never felt what you are describing, and I apply 100% brake pressure into every turn on the track. What brake fluid are you running? How old is it?

Motul brake fluid rbf600, new right after a got the car a month ago.

Mine feels the same as cab33 describes. "pushing down on a block of wood" and hard to feel traction. Allan

Have you tracked other cars? I've tracked other cars and the ABS pulsates off and on. It's horrible on the track. The Viper's is perfect and I've got a lot of track time with a Gen 2 with no ABS.

I've tracked a 2009 Viper and a Scion FRS.
The 2009 Viper brakes were excellent.

What I would call a 10 in braking before the electronics got involved in 2009.
I can only get to a 7 on the 2016 then the electronics jumps in.

Then the way it acts, cutting braking instead of the rapid on off is difficult.
Because when it cuts the braking to get it to reset you have to do more than let off a little...
which does not work out when you coming into a hard braking zone.

The 2009 Viper ABS would start and you could back off the pedal by .5 and you still had max braking and the ABS stopped.

I have never felt this whatsoever on my '13. Are your lap times slower in your Gen 5 versus the 2009? I have the track pack with the stop tech brakes, maybe they changed the ABS software as well, but I doubt it.

I have better tires on the new one and I'm a better driver now... so my lap times are better in the 2016.

Ok, keep in mind then that you are braking your car now much harder than you used to if you are running faster lap times with the new car.
Make sure you've bled the brakes before any day of any event.
