Did Zagato help in designing the gen v ?

I was reading on Wikipedia that the Zagato TZ3 Stradale has the engine from an ACR-X. The car was revealed in April of 2011 ( I assume the same time that the gen 5 was under development ) .The TZ3 has a lot of design elements that are currently on the gen 5 ( could be because the car is based on the gen 4) , but the color is so close the Stryker red , that it got my attention.

Zagato is an independent Design House out of Italy ( Milan if I remember correctly) and they work seperately from Fiat/Chrysler. The Work on the Viper goes back quite a few years and having
been fortunate ( like many ) to chat with the lead designers and even view their video on the car at the last VOI in Charlotte, I am pretty confident there was no collaboration at all. There was
intense though friendly competition within SRT Design and the myriad of designs to come to the beautiful conclusion boggles the mind. With a long hood, front engined machine housing a 8.4 liter
aluminum powerplant, some comparisons are likely to be coincidental. We all tend to see many influences with alot of cars and that is bound to happen as design elements often are picked up by our
consciousness of other dramatic machines - imho.

I remember when I saw the first photos of the TZ3 it had 6 lug wheels and as I read more about it I saw it had a Viper chassis and engine. I was amazed that they could wrap that body around it so well. I have always been an ALFA fan, so the front end was fine with me. As far as the similarity to the Gen V, the shape is pretty much controlled by the mechanicals below. I think they both came out nicely.

viperr is correct...... that 100th anniv Alfa/Zagato was in large part a re-bodied 2010 ACR. And Bill is correct that the G5 was 'almost' a turn-key when the TZ3 debuted.....no real coolaboration other than in BUYING the ACRs from SRT to create the TZ3.......[ps: Some of you have an Italian Connection, since those ACR body parts did return to US. Shhhhh.]
