I traveled with the Calvo Motorsports guys to the Shift S3ctor Pike's Peak Airstrip Attack in Colorado Springs this weekend to test out the new setup. I'll let Antonio post more details, but figured I'd share the videos of the three record passes we made. First day, we went 203.6 with a blown intercooler coupler. Second day we went 204.9 with a hole burned in a wastegate line, then fixed the issue and went 208.5. We could have gone faster in the morning when it was cooler, but we weren't disappointed by any means. The car is making around 1775whp peak, and roughly 1650whp average. Traction control was working hard all the way to 175mph+.
Just as a point of reference for the difference between the morning and afternoon, we got to 195mph in 2200 feet in the 208.5mph run, and earlier that morning during a test pass speed-limited to 198 (to avoid breaking out at 200), we got to 195 in 1900 feet. At 200mph, we were gaining 5mph per 200 feet, so we could have gone roughly 5mph faster earlier in the morning before temps got to 95 degrees. At this altitude (9500+ DA) we were pretty much out of turbo. We even swapped in heavier wastegate springs to squeeze as much boost out as possible, and they simply couldn't produce any more. Hopefully we can run at a lower altitude next month to see the difference.
