We determined that it isn't a lithium phosphate but is it at least an AGM? I just purchased a NOCO G3500 tender and wanted to set it properly. Nothing pops up online or in Worldpac for the battery part number 05035443aa. Thanks

no one knows if this is an agm?

I thought this was part of the thread discussing the agm vs lithium debate.....I don't own a Gen 5 ACR but the other thread proves it is an AGM. Set your NOCO to the AGM setting and your golden.

You may want to also look at that other thread to confirm what you have.

I looked at the other thread and there is no mention of what is the construction type of the battery that is installed in the ACR, other than it is a lightweight lead acid battery containing lead and sulfuric acid, and the photo indicates that it is made by Johnson Controls. i.e., is it flooded cell, gel cell, or AGM, or some other new technology? The three types are correctly charged differently. The photos in the other thread "look" like the battery is sealed; but, I can't tell for sure. Gel cells have been widely superseded by AGM batteries; but, the photo of this battery doesn't look like a Johnson Control's Optima AGM to me. I do think that it may resemble a Johnson Controls Energizer flat plate AGM, though.

If it were me, I would probably take it out and shake it to see if it sloshes. If not, it is likely most AGM. (Without shaking it, its probably a safe bet that if you inspect it and there is no sign of how they might have put liquid in it, it is a AGM.)

The traditional gel cell vs AGM are two different types of battery construction. Absorbed glass mat (agm) is the most common next to traditional wet cell for automotive use.

Even if the battery was a traditional wet cell construction, keeping it on the battery tender at the AGM setting isn't the end of the world....in fact, most wet cell batteries need to be charged at the AGM setting when in cold environments. The best battery charger/maintainer would have a sensor that measures the batteries temperature and charges based on temp, voltage and resistance. Great idea but not going to happen for your ACR....don't over think the process. The NOCO is pretty smart and does a good job of protecting the battery.

My battery has been on a regular Deltron Battery Tender since it was delivered last November. No issues.

And so has mine.

It is a standard lead acid battery... You can see the liquid acid slosh around if you take it out of the tub.
