Sigh. Definitely left a 1/4" open hole.

Crap! So not even pluggable....call JonB! Did you have to get a flatbed home? There is so much debris on the roads. I'm a runner, and when I'm out on the roads, I always stop to pick up nails and screws. Good Karma, I figure. Not that it's done me much good either!

throw that tire away, that sucks

I'll take it if you want to throw it in a box and ship it to FL. I''ll pay shipping.

Or just tape a shipping label to it.

Why can't that be patched?

Likely too big a hole. The puncture looks to have been made by a hollow tube. So everything inside the tube is removed when its extracted from the tire. HUGE HOLE!

Yep, too big a hole. Ever throw a hot dog down a hallway?......

it left a hole that is about 1/4'' wide. unreal. even after i took it out and tried filling with air all you could hear was "hisssss" like you were just pumping air into the atmosphere

What are you going to do with the other (good) tire. I could use it. Pm me.

The MOPAR Road Hazard Tire and Wheels protection is the way to go on these tires and rims. you can get 7 years the cost of a tire. PM me if interested.

Where do you think you picked it up? I want to know what 50 mile radius to avoid.

Harold, so you had to call AAA for a flatbed? No plugging that on the side of the road.

i was ~1m from a gas station so i limped along to it. i had to make an illegal U-Turn right right next to two bike cops checking out my car LOL

i need to get triple A, apparently GEICO reemburses for towing so not worried. Costco also has a "AAA" alternative as well

I have AAA 200 mile radius, and they will take it where you want it. Already used it once last June when I had my flat. It's inexpensive as well. My only concern is if your car is not running, hard to tow up onto the flatbed, and some drivers may not want to take the chance. I'm thinking about getting a front tow hook installed just in case.

How would it get on the flat bed if you didn't have the tow hook? What do drivers usually hook up to?

I'd like to know this as well.

Harold, are you taking the wheels off at home, and taking them and the new tires somewhere to be mounted and balanced?

no idea, was wondering that myself as he was loading. he suggested a dolly next time instead of a flat bed

yep it is hogging my entire garage. i'll be popping them off and taking them to get mounted at what seems to be a trusted shop (fingers crossed).

everyone i have contacted is scared to touch 355's lol

These can't be towed with a dolly....it would scrape, think.

I've got to get a tow hook, there is no other way to get the car on a flatbed so easily.

Plus wear and tear. Only a flatbed for me. When I had my flat last year, I gingerly drove it on myself with the driver guiding me. But if the car is dead, it's gotta be winched on. However, the driver secured all the straps around the frame somehow once it was one, and when we got to the dealer, he just unwinched it and let gravity do the rest, while I was in the car with my foot on the brake.

But a tow hook would be better.

The alternative of strapping to the undercarriage somehow is far uglier.

Just a note, 6500 miles of daily driving used 2mm of tread. Probably should have just gotten the tire shaved but such is life.

Found a local shop that has one of those fancy no touch machines. See how it turns out. $40 tire to mount and balance seems reasonable.

Porsche aftermarket shop quoted me $200/HR at 2 hours to mount two tires lmao.

My Viper tech (actually the wheel specialist at my dealer) did mine. All four, mounted, balanced, etc. - $60.00! I met the kid too - he knows his stuff.

I run and I always stop to pick up nails and screws also. Karma high five man! I try to stay towards middle
Of the road cause I know all the metal is near the curb usually but sometimes could be anywhere just bad luck.

Jon has some kind of voodoo going when it comes to delivery. I don't know how he gets stuff here so fast, and I don't want to know. I just like that it shows up before I can blink.

200 HR to mount tires? One hour to mount them, the other hour for Martinis and Steaks at Mortons on your dime. Holy wowzers.

Discount Tire does my tire mounting and balancing. Good guys and they do 355s, at least my local shop does. They also fix flats for free whether you bought the tires there or not. Ok, well they couldn't fix that tunnel through your tire. They did pull a 5 inch spike out of my Rubicon's 35 inch tire. They dismounted it patched it from the inside, balanced it, and reinstalled it - all for free.
